Jang Gwang is a South Korean voice actor and actor. Born on January 5, 1952, he began his career in the entertainment industry in 1969, initially appearing on stage. He became a voice actor in 1978 after being recruited by the Dong-A Broadcasting Company. Following broadcasting mergers in the 1980s, he was classified as a member of KBS's 15th recruitment class, establishing him as a prominent voice actor for the network.

Jang Gwang is highly prolific in dubbing for animated series and films, providing the Korean voices for a wide array of characters. In the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, his roles include Martin Prochnow in Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO: Apocalypse 0079 and Steiner Hardy in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. His other notable anime voice work encompasses a vast range of titles. He voiced Jiraiya in both Naruto and Naruto Shippūden, Soichiro Yagami in Death Note, Isshin Kurosaki in Bleach, Van Hohenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mao in Darker than Black, and Daisuke Aramaki in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. In film, he voiced Moro the Wolf God in Princess Mononoke, Uncle Pom and Louie in Castle in the Sky, and the character of Jeke in the OVA series Green Legend Ran. He also took on the role of Bunmei Muroto in the film Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. His work extends to live-action dubbing as well, such as providing the Korean voice for the character Lucifer in the Korean drama Michel.

Beyond voice acting, Jang Gwang has built a successful career as an on-screen actor in both film and television since 2011. He gained significant attention and acclaim for his dual role as the abusive school principal and janitor in the critically acclaimed and socially impactful film Silenced. This role marked a major turning point, leading to numerous other film and drama appearances. His other notable film credits include the role of a loyal eunuch in the period drama Masquerade and portraying former president Chun Doo-hwan in the film 26 Years. On television, he has appeared in a wide variety of popular Korean dramas, including The Crowned Clown, A Korean Odyssey, Love in the Moonlight, and Defendant. He is affiliated with the agency Shin Entertainment.
