Daniel Flynn is an English actor and voice artist with a career spanning television, film, stage, and voice work for anime and video games. He was born in 1961 in Evesham, Worcestershire, and is part of a family with strong ties to the performing arts; he is the son of actor Eric Flynn and the brother of actors Jerome Flynn and Johnny Flynn. Flynn trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1982.

In the realm of anime voice acting, Flynn is known for his roles in English dubs of original video animations (OVAs) produced during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He voiced Merrill "Benten" Yanagawa, one of the three convict protagonists, in the cyberpunk OVA series Cyber City Oedo 808 (1990). He also provided the voice for the strategist Narsus in the English version of the OVA series The Heroic Legend of Arslan (1991-1995). His other early anime credits include roles in Angel Cop (1989) and Dark Myth (1990).

Beyond anime, Flynn is widely recognized for his extensive voice work in video games, particularly for the developer FromSoftware. He is the voice of the beloved character Solaire of Astora in Dark Souls (2011), a role that has become iconic in gaming culture. He has also voiced characters in other games from the same developer, including Alfred in Bloodborne (2015), a performance that was part of a Behind The Voice Actors Award nomination for Best Vocal Ensemble. His other game credits include various roles in Dark Souls II and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (2024).

In addition to his voice acting, Flynn has maintained a steady career in British television. He is perhaps best known for his role as Superintendent John Heaton in the long-running police drama The Bill from 2006 to 2009. His other television credits include appearances in series such as Soldier Soldier, Peak Practice, Island at War, Unforgotten, and The Crown.
