Uwe Jellinek was a German actor and voice actor, recognized for his extensive work in dubbing foreign productions for the German market, including a substantial number of anime series and films. He was born on December 25, 1953. Originally a trained inland waterway navigator, he pursued a three-year acting education at the Staatliche Schauspielschule Berlin starting in 1977. His early career included stage performances at the theater in Schwedt and appearances in films and television productions of the DEFA and East German television, beginning in the early 1980s. He continued his on-screen acting career after German reunification with roles in series such as Wolffs Revier, HeliCops – Einsatz über Berlin, and Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei. Uwe Jellinek passed away on March 17, 2023.

His voice acting portfolio is extensive, encompassing a wide range of characters in anime. He provided the German voice for Jiiya in the series Hi Score Girl and its OVA, and for Hyōei in the movie Black Fox. In the anime film Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, he voiced the character Jubileus. Other prominent anime roles include the villainous Ali Al-Saachez in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the powerful Lugnut in Transformers: Animated, and Satou in Ajin. He was also a recurring voice in the German dubs of long-running franchises, most notably as Shuichi Akai in various Detective Conan titles and as Yukinori Shinohara in the Tokyo Ghoul series.
