Description
Víctor Hugo Aguilar is a Mexican actor and voice director born on November 2, 1969, with a extensive career in Latin American dubbing that began in the late 1980s. He entered the dubbing industry in 1987 after being introduced to director Jorge Sánchez Fogarty by the actress Silvia Derbez and passing an audition with Narciso Busquets.

Aguilar has built a reputation as one of the regular Spanish voices for prominent Hollywood actors including Sylvester Stallone, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ving Rhames, often being compared to fellow voice actor Blas García due to the similarity of their vocal registers. This similarity has led to them interchangeably voicing the same actors in various productions.

His voice work spans numerous animated franchises and live-action dubs. He is widely recognized for providing the voice of Johnny Bravo in the animated series of the same name, as well as I Am Weasel in its respective series. In the anime genre, he has voiced Zetsu in the Naruto franchise, Jinbe in One Piece, and Matasaka Kamishiro in Tokyo Ghoul. He also voiced the champion Lucian in the video game League of Legends and Bane in Batman: Arkham Origins.

Within the Transformers franchise, Aguilar has voiced several characters across different series. He provided the voice of Ratchet in Transformers: Robots in Disguise and took on the role of Optimus Prime in both chapters of the Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, specifically Siege and Earthrise. He also voiced Optimus Prime in promotional trailers for the film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and in the video game Fortnite.

Beyond animation and anime, Aguilar's extensive filmography includes voicing major characters in prominent film franchises. He is known for being the voice of Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Hagrid in the early Harry Potter films, and various roles in films starring actors for whom he is a regular voice. He has also directed dubbing projects.

In addition to his voice acting work, Aguilar is a singer who performs with his band, Vic Band, and has appeared as an actor in the Mexican telenovela Duelo de Pasiones. He is a public advocate for the use of human actors in dubbing and has expressed his opposition to the use of artificial intelligence in the field.
