Description
Hitomi Harada is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on November 18, 1987, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in the entertainment industry after being scouted as a singer, initially working with the production company TWOFIVE. Following the conclusion of that contract, she transitioned to focus on voice acting and joined the talent agency Production Baobab. Later, on September 10, 2016, she left Production Baobab and became a freelancer, before eventually affiliating with the agency Office Anemone in January 2020.

Her early voice acting work primarily involved dubbing and roles in video games. A significant turning point in her career came in 2009 when she began auditioning for anime roles. She landed her first leading role as Mizuki Himeji in the anime series Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts, a character she would reprise in its subsequent sequels and OVAs. This role established her as a notable presence in the industry. Another early and prominent role was as Nori in the long-running Hidamari Sketch series.

Harada is well-known for voicing strong and energetic female characters. One of her most iconic roles is Asuka, the protagonist of the Senran Kagura multimedia franchise, which includes multiple anime series and video games. She also gained widespread recognition for her performance as the devoted automaton Yaya in Unbreakable Machine-Doll. Her other major anime roles include Aki Nijou in Maken-Ki!, Tamaki Nekoyama in Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san, Valentina Glinka Estes in Lord Marksman and Vanadis, Airi Totoki in The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls franchise, and Kokomi Asahina in Battle Girl High School. In addition to her voice acting, Hitomi Harada maintains an active career as a singer. She has performed numerous theme songs for anime and video games, often showcasing a powerful and high-energy singing voice that contrasts with the softer character voices she employs in her acting roles. Notable examples of her musical work include the theme song emotional flutter for the game ef - the latter tale., which charted on Oricon, as well as Kyoumei no True Force for Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance, Overdrive for Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-, and Schwarzer Bogen for Lord Marksman and Vanadis. This duality in her vocal abilities—a gentle, often "moe" voice for characters and a powerful, clear voice for singing—is a recognized and distinctive aspect of her career.

In September 2015, Harada took a temporary hiatus from her work to recover from a tailbone fracture. During this period, she explored creative writing and began working on a light novel.
