3森島はるか編 其の三
Junichi accompanies Haruka to a public swimming pool after she mentions wanting to go during their previous conversation. Haruka wears a school swimsuit she borrowed from the lost-and-found,claiming she forgot her own. She challenges Junichi to a race and wins easily, then notices his discomfort around her in the swimsuit. Haruka repeatedly asks Junichi to say what he thinks of her appearance, and he eventually admits he finds it embarrassing because she looks good. Later, while resting, Haruka reveals she actually brought her own swimsuit but chose the school one to see his reaction. Junichi realizes she often tests him in similar ways. Haruka explains she enjoys watching him struggle because his honest responses please her. She asks him to wait while she changes into her real swimsuit, a bikini. When she returns, Junichi again struggles to voice his thoughts, and Haruka teases him further. After they leave the pool, Haruka invites Junichi to her home for dinner. At her house, she shows him her room, where she keeps a small notepad to write down things she wants to remember, including Junichi’s name and their meeting dates. Junichi discovers she has been writing down everything about him since the first day they spoke. Haruka admits she fears forgetting important moments and uses the notebook to preserve them. She then confesses she likes him and wants to keep filling the notebook with memories of them together. Junichi accepts her feelings, and they share a kiss. The episode closes with Haruka suggesting they visit the pool again soon, now as a couple.
4Morishima-senpai's Circumstances - Part 2
After their Christmas Eve date, Junichi Tachibana and Morishima Haruka begin a relationship that tests his composure. Haruka repeatedly initiates physical contact, including attempts to kiss him and invitations to spend the night together. Junichi deflects each advance, citing his lack of experience and fear of disrespecting her. On New Year’s Day, Haruka brings Junichi to her home, where she introduces him to her mother in a casual but deliberate manner. In her room, Haruka confronts Junichi about his constant hesitation, demanding to know whether he truly wants to be with her. Junichi explains that he worries her playful personality masks a deeper reluctance, and he does not want to pressure her. Haruka then reveals her own insecurity: she fears Junichi will abandon her once the novelty of their relationship fades, especially with her impending graduation separating them. This mutual confession breaks their standoff, and they share a genuine kiss that solidifies their mutual commitment. The following week, Haruka’s friends observe her unusual contentment, and she publicly acknowledges Junichi as her boyfriend without embarrassment. Junichi accepts that their relationship requires him to overcome his anxieties, and he begins to reciprocate her affection more openly. The episode closes with the start of the new school term, where a chance encounter with classmate Kaoru Tanamachi sets up a different social dynamic.
5Bad Friend
Two years before the current school year, Junichi Tachibana walks home alone after being stood up on Christmas Eve. Kaoru Tanamachi, a friend since middle school, encounters him and invites him to her home to share cake with her mother. In the present, Kaoru greets Junichi by biting his ear in the classroom, leading to a comedic argument witnessed by their friend Masayoshi. When Junichi sides with class representative Tsukasa Ayatsuji during a reprimand, Kaoru kicks him to the floor. While he is down, Junichi inadvertently sees her underwear, and Kaoru knocks him unconscious. Kaoru waits in the school infirmary for him to wake up, where they tease each other before she tells him to meet her at the flower garden after school. Junichi assumes Kaoru intends to confess her feelings and spends the rest of his classes distracted by imaginary scenarios. At the garden, Junichi finds Kaoru with her friend Keiko, who seeks his advice on a boy who ignored her confession for a month. Junichi suggests Keiko write a letter, which she accepts happily. Walking home together, Junichi mentions he thought Kaoru was going to confess, laughing at the idea. Kaoru strikes him with her bag and runs off to her part-time job at a restaurant. Junichi later visits the restaurant, and Kaoru’s awkward attempts to serve him reveal her own sudden confusion about her feelings.
6Nanasaki Ai - Part 2: Escape
Ai Nanasaki works at the Girls' Swim Team Oden Stand during the Founder's Festival while Miya and Sae perform in their class play. During her break, Ai tears up remembering the previous year's festival with Junichi. After the festival ends, Miya and Sae invite Ai to a slumber party, but Ai realizes she forgot to buy a Christmas present for her younger brother Ikuo. At a store, she picks up an Inago Mask belt toy, which triggers more memories of Junichi and intensifies her loneliness. Junichi appears behind her, having sneaked out of his cram school training camp to spend Christmas Eve with her. They call Miya and Sae to cancel the slumber party, and Ai leaves Ikuo's gift at his bedside. Junichi buys Ai a white coat as her Christmas present, and Ai gives him her old coat to keep him warm during their date. Masayoshi encounters the couple and wards off people from the cram school who are searching for Junichi. While walking through an area with love hotels, they spot Ms. Takahashi emerging from a spa and run away embarrassed. They reach a park overlooking the city, where snow begins to fall. Ai confesses her loneliness and worries about Junichi leaving for college, but Junichi reassures her that nothing will change. He promises to give her a key when he gets an apartment, and they kiss in the snow. A timeskip shows Junichi in his college apartment, where Ai wakes him up to watch fireworks together.
7Episode 7
Junichi and Kaoru walk home together after school, their conversation marked by pauses and glances that highlight the unfamiliar territory of their newly acknowledged relationship. Kaoru proposes attending a summer festival together, phrasing the invitation as a group outing to soften the weight of the request. At the festival, they meet Miya and a friend, but Kaoru quickly steers Junichi away, her actions betraying a desire for privacy. They spend time at a shooting gallery where Kaoru wins a small plush toy and hands it to Junichi with a teasing remark about it being a reward for his patience. Finding a quieter spot away from the crowds, Kaoru admits her worry that becoming a couple will erode the easy companionship they built over years of friendship. Junichi responds by stating plainly that he wants to keep her close without losing what they already have, prompting Kaoru to drop her usual playful mask. She reveals that she has cared for him since their middle school days and deliberately concealed those feelings to avoid risking their friendship. Junichi listens without interruption and then affirms his commitment, saying he now wants to build something new with her. In the quiet that follows, Kaoru asks Junichi to call her by her first name, a request he fulfills without hesitation, marking a clear shift in how they address each other. The episode ends with Kaoru proposing they go on a proper date the following weekend, placing their still-fresh bond under the ordinary but significant test of a planned outing.

After Kaoru misses the last bus home, Junichi invites her to stay at his house. He evades his younger sister and brings Kaoru to his room, where she insists they sleep next to each other. While kissing Junichi in bed, Kaoru falls asleep, leaving Junichi to reflect on the moment. The next morning, the newly formed couple rides a bike together, watching the sunrise and discussing their future. 9中多紗江編 第一章 ~憧れ~
Junichi Tachibana notices Sae Nakata in the school library, where she reads a book on overcoming shyness. He later sees her struggling alone to carry a stack of classroom materials after a teacher asks for help. Junichi offers assistance, and together they transport the items, marking their first direct interaction. Sae speaks in a quiet, hesitant voice and avoids eye contact, revealing her deep social anxiety. A few days later, Junichi observes Sae politely declining classmates’ invitation to eat together, then retreating to an empty hallway. He finds her dropped pencil case and returns it, leading to another brief exchange. Sae’s father, a teacher at the same school, appears briefly, highlighting her awareness of being watched by faculty. Junichi recognizes that Sae’s isolation stems from fear of drawing attention rather than genuine disinterest in others. He decides to help her gain confidence by starting small conversations and suggesting they practice talking together after school. Sae accepts the proposal with visible relief, and the two begin meeting in a quiet classroom. Junichi learns that Sae feels pressure from her father’s reputation and wants to become more self-reliant. Their sessions focus on simple dialogues, but Junichi’s growing personal interest in her becomes a new unspoken element in their arrangement.
10Sae Nakata - Chapter 2: The Moonlight and the Sun
Junichi continues meeting Sae after school to practice voice acting. Sae reads from a children’s picture book but delivers the lines in a flat, monotone voice. Junichi demonstrates by reading the same lines with exaggerated emotion, making Sae laugh and briefly easing her tension. They move to a park, where Sae attempts to read a romantic scene between a boy and a girl. She stammers through the confession lines, blushing and unable to complete them. Junichi advises her to imagine the feelings behind the words rather than focusing on the act of speaking. Later at a café, Sae accidentally recites one of the romantic lines aloud while looking directly at Junichi, drawing startled reactions from nearby customers. Junichi’s sister Miya and his friend Umehara notice the exchange and tease him afterward about the situation. Sae confesses that she wants to overcome her fear of speaking with genuine emotion and asks Junichi to keep helping her. Junichi agrees, and they set a schedule for daily practice. Sae manages to deliver a short line with natural warmth by the end of the day, marking her first small breakthrough. The next day, Sae’s mother invites Junichi to their home, setting the stage for a more personal and demanding practice environment.
11ナナサキ アイ 編 第一章
Junichi Tachibana visits the school pool during summer break and encounters Ai Nanasaki,a member of the swimming club who practices alone. She asks him to time her laps, and he observes her intense dedication. After learning that Ai is the club’s sole competitive swimmer, Junichi begins coming to the pool daily to help with timing and minor tasks. Ai remains distant and strictly focused on her training, rarely speaking beyond necessary instructions. During one session, Junichi notices Ai favoring her left arm and concealing discomfort. He confronts her about the shoulder injury, but she denies it and insists on continuing practice. Later, the club advisor reveals that Ai has been hiding the injury to avoid being sidelined from an upcoming meet. Junichi decides to formally join the club as a manager to support her training while ensuring she does not overexert herself. Ai initially refuses, then reluctantly accepts after Junichi pledges to handle all logistics so she can focus solely on swimming. The episode ends with Ai acknowledging his persistence with a slight shift in her demeanor, though she remains guarded about her true condition. Junichi now faces the challenge of balancing his new managerial duties with Ai’s stubborn refusal to fully rest or accept help beyond her rigid self-imposed limits.
12Sae Nakata Chapter: Conclusion
Junichi Tachibana arrives at the Nakata family restaurant to find Sae practicing her customer service alone. Sae’s older sister Rihoko explains that Sae has been working after hours to build confidence. Junichi agrees to accompany Sae to the beach, treating the outing as a final practice date. On the train, Sae describes how Junichi’s repeated encouragement helped her speak with customers without freezing. At the beach, Junichi tries to confess his feelings but stops mid-sentence. Sae notices his hesitation and asks directly whether he still considers their time together practice. Junichi admits he wants to be her boyfriend, not just a practice partner. Sae states she feels the same way, and they share their first kiss. When they return, Rihoko observes their interlocked hands and gives her silent approval. The following morning, Junichi and Sae walk to school together, now openly a couple. Junichi considers that the relationship he once treated as training has become something he genuinely wants to protect.
13Ai Nanasaki Arc - Chapter 1
Junichi Tachibana arrives at the municipal pool to practice swimming, determined to overcome a childhood fear of water that has persisted since a near-drowning incident. He finds Ai Nanasaki, a first-year student from his school, already swimming laps alone after the facility’s public hours. Ai, who holds a part-time job as a lifeguard at the same pool, initially refuses to give him lessons, citing her own training priorities. Junichi persists by offering to help with her lifeguard duties in exchange for instruction, and Ai reluctantly agrees to teach him. Their first session consists of basic breathing and floating exercises, but Junichi’s anxiety triggers a panic response each time his face submerges. Ai responds with patient but firm guidance, using countdowns and physical prompts to keep him from giving up. After several failed attempts, Junichi manages to float for a brief moment, earning a rare word of acknowledgment from Ai. She explains that she trains daily to maintain her form and aims to qualify for a regional competition, revealing the discipline behind her serious demeanor. Junichi resolves to continue the lessons despite the difficulty, and Ai accepts his renewed commitment. The episode closes with Junichi walking home, aware that his progress hinges entirely on Ai’s exacting standards and his own capacity to confront his fear head-on.
14Ai-hen: Dai-ni-wa
Junichi Tachibana and Ai Nanasaki agree to spend their day off at a water park. Ai hopes to confront her lingering fear of swimming pools, a result of a past accident where she nearly drowned during a training camp. At the park, Ai remains composed while watching others swim, but her hands tremble when Junichi suggests entering the wave pool. She steps into the water but freezes as the artificial waves build, forcing Junichi to pull her out before a full panic sets in. Outside the pool area, Ai admits she had hidden the full extent of her fear from Junichi because she wanted to appear capable and not burden him. Junichi replies that he already knows about her accident from their earlier conversations and that her willingness to try matters more than immediate success. He proposes they spend the rest of the day on the park’s other attractions, avoiding pools entirely, and Ai accepts with visible relief. Later, while sharing a bench, Ai asks Junichi why he continues to help her despite her setbacks. He answers that he enjoys seeing her gradually push past her limits. Encouraged, Ai suggests they return to the same water park after she has practiced more, turning the day’s failure into a concrete goal. The episode closes with Ai inviting Junichi to watch her regular swimming practice, signaling her determination to rebuild her confidence step by step. The immediate consequence is a strengthened mutual understanding, but the next obstacle arises when Ai’s older brother, who originally opposed her dating, begins to suspect the relationship has deepened.
15Nanasaki Ai Arc, Chapter 3: Transformation
Ai Nanasaki practices with the swimming club, but captain Hibiki Tsukahara notes no improvement in her times and excludes her from the upcoming meet. Junichi Tachibana receives free amusement park tickets from a mascot and invites Ai and her younger brother Ikuo. Ikuo becomes sick, leaving Junichi and Ai to attend the park alone. Ai takes the lead during the date, guiding Junichi through various attractions. Inside the Pharaoh’s Mystery horror house, Junichi begins to hallucinate and perceives Ai as a bowl of miso soup, attempting to eat her finger before snapping back to reality. After leaving the attraction, they sit on a park swing where Ai steals a kiss from Junichi and runs off. The next day, Junichi remains distracted by the kiss, but Ai acts normally and evades his attempts to discuss it. She asks him to meet her after school, but he finds her arguing with Hibiki and then fleeing in tears. Junichi pursues her, and they both end up in the pool, where Ai finally cries in his arms, revealing her disappointment at not being selected for the meet. She expresses her determination to continue improving over the next two years, and Junichi promises to support her. As they walk home, Ai invites Junichi to help the swim club run an oden cart at the upcoming Founder’s Festival, setting the stage for their next encounter.
16Confessions
Junichi and Ai operate the girls’ swim club oden stall together during the school festival. Members of the tea club challenge the stall’s quality, questioning a boy’s ability to serve traditional oden. Their homeroom teacher arrives intoxicated from sweet sake, and class representative Tsukasa Ayatsuji escorts her away. The tea club members taste the oden and approve of the flavor. After the stall sells out, Hibiki dismisses Junichi and Ai from their duties. Ai leads Junichi to catch the last bus and guides him on a walk through the mountains. She reveals a secluded open-air hot spring and enters the water wearing only a towel. Ai confesses her feelings directly, and Junichi accepts her confession immediately. She submerges herself in the water to hide her overwhelming joy, then rises and embraces him, letting her towel fall away. They remain together until dawn, and Junichi rests his head on Ai’s lap as she promises to care for him. The episode closes with Ai’s story ending and the narrative preparing to shift to a new heroine.
17Memories
Two years before the episode's present,Junichi asked his childhood friend Rihoko to help him select a Christmas present for another girl, leaving Rihoko saddened by her unrequited feelings. In the current timeline, Rihoko takes a shortcut to school through a hole in a fence but becomes stuck, requiring Junichi to pull her free. Junichi's comments about her difficulty fitting prompt Rihoko to declare a diet to her friend Kanae, who then organizes a weekend ice skating trip with Junichi and his friend Masayoshi. Rihoko struggles to maintain her diet when her Tea Club seniors offer snacks, and she breaks her resolve by eating with them. Junichi walks home with a dejected Rihoko, and they pause at a park slide where they played as children with Junichi's sister Miya. That evening, Rihoko weighs herself and recommits to her diet with renewed determination. The next morning, Rihoko again takes the fence shortcut and successfully passes through, believing her diet has already shown results. Unbeknownst to her, Junichi had secretly widened the fence hole earlier to ensure she would fit. Rihoko begins her diet with increased confidence while remaining unaware of Junichi's quiet gesture.
18Ai Nanasaki: Chapter 2
Junichi joins Ai at the local pool after she finishes her morning shift at the convenience store. Ai wears a swimsuit but keeps her distance, spending most of the time sitting apart from Junichi. Junichi repeatedly invites her into the water, and she reluctantly joins him after he challenges her to a race. Ai wins the race but immediately claims she does not want to continue and moves to leave. Junichi follows her, and she admits she has been avoiding him because his persistence reminds her of her older brother. She explains that her brother died in a traffic accident two years earlier, and she fears becoming close to someone who might also leave. Junichi tells her he cannot replace her brother but will not disappear. Ai begins to cry, and Junichi places his hand on her shoulder. The two sit together in silence until the pool closes. Walking home, Ai accepts Junichi’s offer to keep working together at the store and agrees to spend more time with him outside of work. The episode ends with Ai smiling at Junichi as they part ways, leaving her fear of loss unresolved but her willingness to engage with him visibly increased.

Throughout the evening, Rihoko attempts to express her romantic feelings but hesitates each time. A male clubmate from the tea ceremony club interrupts them multiple times, derailing her attempts. The two watch the fireworks display, and Rihoko proposes they return to the same festival the following year. Junichi agrees, and they make a promise to attend together again. Meanwhile, the tea ceremony club faces potential closure due to low membership. The club advisor asks Rihoko to become the next president, a responsibility she accepts despite her personal desires. Rihoko decides to prioritize reviving the club, setting aside her confession for the time being. The episode closes with Rihoko reaffirming her promise with Junichi, knowing she will postpone addressing her feelings until after her club duties.
20Farewell
With the third term underway,Rihoko and Junichi remain in the same stagnant relationship despite Kanae’s encouragement. Rihoko confesses she prefers things as they are. Seniors Manaka and Ruriko face graduation, putting the Tea Club’s future at risk. The two seniors attempt to recruit Morishima Haruka through a competition, but they lose badly. Junichi declines repeated requests to join the club himself. On Valentine’s Day, Rihoko gives Junichi a box of chocolate cream puffs, following a rumor about cream puffs as a proposal gift. While he eats them, she asks if there is any girl from whom he wants chocolates, and he returns the question, but neither answers directly. Rihoko continues her recruitment efforts through the following weeks, but no new members join. At the graduation ceremony, Rihoko admits her failure to her departing seniors. Junichi arrives and presents his Tea Club membership application as a graduation gift, securing the club’s survival. When the new school term begins, Junichi and Rihoko host a freshmen tea ceremony together to attract new members. Manaka, Ruriko, and Kanae attend the event and continue to tease the pair about their relationship. He reports to the library at the designated time and finds Tsukasa already seated with textbooks, having prepared a study plan for him. She corrects his answers with a red pen and explains each mistake without raising her voice. Over the next several days, Junichi joins her in the library, and she gradually increases the difficulty of the practice problems. During lunch, Junichi observes Tsukasa eating alone in the empty classroom, so he buys two sweet breads from the vending machine and sits across from her. She initially protests that he should eat with his friends, but she accepts the bread. In response to his questions, Tsukasa admits she maintains strict academic standards because she neglected her studies in middle school and regrets the missed opportunities. She also confides that classmates often avoid her due to her rigid reputation, leaving her without close friends. Junichi offers to assist with her class representative duties, such as organizing the class files and collecting permission slips, so she can finish earlier. Tsukasa declines once, but after Junichi persists, she allows him to help. While sorting papers together, she smiles at his efficiency and makes a sarcastic remark about his study habits. Masayoshi Umehara finds Junichi and reveals his own regret over a childhood confession he never made, urging his friend to act before repeating the same mistake. Reinvigorated, Junichi attends the after-party and asks Tsukasa to meet him alone. He confesses his love, stating that he cherishes both her public kindness and her hidden, sharp-tongued nature. Confused and angered by his words, Tsukasa physically attacks him, crying that she erased her old self specifically for his sake. Junichi smiles at her outburst, expressing relief that the Tsukasa he loves still exists. Miss Takahashi discovers the pair but leaves them undisturbed.
