Jacob Weigert is a German actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in dubbing Japanese anime series. Born in Berlin in August 1981, he moved to Hamburg with his family in 1989. He studied acting from 2001 and graduated in November 2005 after passing his examination at the ZBF-Hamburg. Since then, he has worked as a freelance actor for theatre, film, and as a speaker. His entry into voice acting came from a practical desire to supplement his income from theatre work, leading him to apply for work at Studio Hamburg. He began with smaller roles around 2006 and found a deep passion for the craft, citing the challenge of conveying character solely through voice as a rewarding aspect of the profession.

Weigert has built an extensive filmography in anime dubbing, providing the German voice for a wide array of prominent characters. He is perhaps best known for voicing the protagonist Gintoki Sakata in the long-running and genre-spanning series Gintama, a role he has described as particularly memorable and unlikely to be surpassed due to its comedic and tonal demands. He is also the German voice of the strategic shinobi Shikamaru Nara across the Naruto franchise, including the series Naruto Shippuden and multiple related films. Another significant role is that of the powerful antagonist Tsukasa Shishiou in the popular series Dr. Stone and its sequel Dr. Stone: Stone Wars.

He has also voiced Toshizo Hijikata in the historical supernatural films Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom: Wild Dance of Kyoto and Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom: Warrior Spirit of the Blue Sky. Other prominent roles include Yoshifumi Nitta in Hinamatsuri, Ruth in The Ancient Magus' Bride, and Eld Gin in Attack on Titan.

His role in Dr. Stone was recorded at the Oxygen Sound Studios in Berlin under the direction of René Dawn-Claude. His work on the Hakuoki films was done at the Digital Media Technologie studio in Hamburg. He also noted that he does not watch anime privately but values the creative challenge and escapism that voicing the characters provides.
