Setsuji Satō is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and narrator born in Tokyo on December 6, 1974. He stands 171cm tall and possesses a high baritone vocal range. Satō has been affiliated with the theatrical troupe Engeki Shūdan En since joining its acting research institute in 1995 and becoming a regular member in 1997. His professional voice acting career began in 1999 with his debut role as Joseph Yaht in the anime series Turn A Gundam, a character he would reprise in subsequent films and video games.

Satō is known for an extensive and varied career that includes numerous recurring roles across long-running franchises. He is particularly recognized for his work in the Duel Masters trading card game anime series, where he has voiced the character Decky across multiple installments including Duel Masters!, Duel Masters!!, Duel Masters King, and Duel Masters King Max. In the same franchise, he also provides the voice for the enthusiastic narrator character Hot-Blooded Naretaro. In the Transformers multimedia franchise, Satō has voiced several characters, most notably the Decepticon Starscream in the Japanese dub of the War for Cybertron Trilogy, which includes Siege, Earthrise, and Kingdom. His other Transformers roles include Mohawk in Transformers: The Last Knight, Clampdown and Bisk in Transformers: Robots in Disguise, and Craig in the spin-off film Bumblebee. His work also extends to other popular gaming franchises; he voices the character Lucas Flannery in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Igor in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Beyond franchise work, Satō has an extensive filmography across various anime genres and studios. He portrayed Aijima Senpai in the 2022 sequel series Tatami Time Machine Blues, reprising a role from The Tatami Galaxy. In the original MAPPA film Maboroshi (2023), he played the character Mamoru Sagami. His roles in original net animation include Hank, the engineer of the Yurei Detective Club, in Science SARU's 2022 series Yurei Deco. He also lent his voice to the character Nox in the CGI film Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild, Hebimaru in the Ninjala anime adaptation, and the Command Team Leader in the 2024 film Kurayukaba. Other notable anime roles include King Lowhide in Bye Bye, Earth (2024), Cornea Sebuld in Demon Lord 2099 (2024), and Zakkurin in You and Idol Precure♪.

Satō is a prolific voice actor for foreign films and television series, providing Japanese dubbing for numerous Hollywood productions. He is known as the regular Japanese voice for actors such as Russell Brand and Jesse Plemons. His dubbing credits include playing Nori in The Hobbit trilogy, Tom the Cat in the 2014 version of Tom and Jerry, and roles in films like Alita: Battle Angel (as Romo), The Godfather, The Batman, The Suicide Squad, and many others. His notable achievements include taking over the voice role of Tom from Tom and Jerry following the death of previous voice actor Kaneta Kimotsuki in 2016.
