Ryōka Shima

Ryōka Shima is a retired Japanese voice actress, also known as a seiyuu, who was active in the anime industry for approximately two decades. She was born on April 29, 1972, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Shima announced her indefinite hiatus from the voice acting industry on April 29, 2018, marking the end of her career that spanned from the late 1990s.
Shima’s career featured a number of significant roles across various television series and original video animations. One of her earliest major parts was as Hibari Hanakoganei, the protagonist of the 1998 television series Cyberteam in Akihabara. She also voiced Pipin in the online animation Magical Play. In the series G-On Riders, she performed the opening theme song in addition to voicing the character Yuuki Kurama.
She is perhaps best recognized for her long-running role as Fumitsuki Nanakorobi throughout the entire Happy Lesson franchise. This work included the initial OVAs in 2001, the first television series in 2002, the second season Happy Lesson Advanced in 2003, and the concluding OVA Happy Lesson The Final in 2004. Her other anime roles from this period included Rie Aihara in Super GALS! and supporting appearances in series such as Gate Keepers, Kaleido Star, and R.O.D -The TV-.
In addition to her work in mainstream television, Shima voiced characters in more adult-oriented OVA productions. She played Heather@Doll in the 2001 science fiction series Malice@Doll and portrayed Shaiya, also known as Angel Anda, in both the Angel Blade and Angel Blade Punish! OVAs.
