Before pursuing voice acting, he gained experience in theater and improv comedy performance and worked as an IT professional, an unusual combination that contributes to his understanding of production timelines and budgets. His vocal skills include proficiency in accents, character voices, impressions, and voice matching.

In anime and animated productions, Thomas has been credited in a variety of roles. He is the voice of Manabu Yasui in the anime series March Comes in Like a Lion. He also voiced President Graham in the CGI anime miniseries Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.
