Kyōko Tongū

Kyōko Tongū is a Japanese voice actress born on October 11, 1955, in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production.

Tongū began her voice acting career in the early 1980s. Her debut anime role was in 1984 with the series Fist of the North Star. She is best known for providing the voice of Kei, one of the two titular Lovely Angels, in the long-running Dirty Pair franchise. She voiced Kei in numerous installments, including the original television series, the OVA episodes, the film Dirty Pair: Project Eden, and several other specials and movies throughout the late 1980s.

Her other notable roles from this period include Jackie Lee in the mecha series Galactic Gale Baxinger, Smith in the canine adventure Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, Nakamura in the cyberpunk action film Black Magic M-66, Manabu Noguchi in the soccer anime Kickers, and Hôrî in Transformers: Victory. Her filmography also includes roles such as Chibi in Demon City Shinjuku, Joey in Maple Town, and Akio in Gegege no Kitarō: Yōkai Daisensō.

In 1992, Tongū temporarily retired from voice acting for several years due to her husband's work relocation to Milan, Italy. She returned to Japan and resumed her career by the end of the decade, later focusing primarily on dubbing foreign films and television programs. Later anime work includes a role in Mermaid Forest and the voice for Star Fox: Assault.
