Katsumi Chō is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on August 11, 1951, in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency Chikyuugi. Chō stands 176 cm tall and has blood type A.

Before pursuing voice acting, Chō trained at the Aoyama Sugiyama Memorial Actor Training Center and began his career on stage with the Seinenza Theater Company in 1973. His early work included appearances in live-action television dramas, including several NHK taiga dramas. He transitioned into voice acting in the 1990s and has since built an extensive career known for his deep, authoritative voice, frequently portraying wise elders, military commanders, villains, and figures of authority.

Chō has voiced numerous characters across anime, video games, and dubbing. His anime roles include Elizabello II in One Piece, Suwano in The Perfect Insider, Nobliss Gordon in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Owl Head in Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Barrow in Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry, Gil Graham in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, Mifune in Naruto Shippuden, Toyohisa Senguji in Psycho-Pass, Grey Fly in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and Nagasumi's grandfather in My Bride Is a Mermaid. He also voiced the Hyūga elder in Naruto and has played multiple guest roles in Detective Conan.

Chō has a prominent history with the Rockman.EXE franchise, voicing the antagonist Dr. Wily across all four main anime series: Rockman EXE, Rockman EXE Stream, Rockman EXE Beast, and Rockman EXE Beast+. In the Transformers franchise, he voiced the planet-eater Unicron in Transformers: Armada.

In the field of video games, Chō is known for his roles as Kimahri Ronso in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, and as Heidegger in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. He also played King Ingobert the Sixth in Tales of the Abyss, Jiberl in Tales of Rebirth, and a king in Tales of the Tempest. His other game credits include Lucius Fox in the Japanese dub of Batman: Arkham Knight and roles in the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

Chō has an extensive career in dubbing foreign films and television series into Japanese. He has provided the Japanese voice for actors including Brendan Gleeson in In Bruges, Christopher Lee in Hugo and The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby, William Hurt in The Host, Anthony Hopkins in Misconduct, and Miguel Ferrer as Vice President Rodriguez in Iron Man 3. He also dubbed the role of Donald Trump in the Japanese version of the reality series The Apprentice.
