Shinobu Matsumoto is a Japanese voice actor and stage actor from Osaka Prefecture, born on December 18, 1973. He is affiliated with the talent agency Mausu Promotion, a move he made in 2010 after being previously represented by Bring Up. In addition to his voice work, Matsumoto is an active member of the theater troupe Alter Ego, where he appears in stage productions. He began his voice acting career in 1998 and saw a significant increase in television anime roles starting in 2011.
Matsumoto is known for playing a wide array of supporting characters, often portraying middle-aged men and background roles across numerous anime series. He is also proficient in the Osaka and Ibaraki dialects. Among his more prominent anime roles is Sou Oribe in the Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Ars Nova television series, a role he reprised for the series' two theatrical films, Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova DC and Cadenza.
