In Japan during the mid-1950s, a period of rapid economic growth, the circus stands as a beloved pillar of entertainment. Traveling troupes journey across the country, performing daily and competing fiercely for a prestigious spot in the world-renowned Circus Collection festival. Among these is the Sunflower Circus, a small and spirited troupe led by the determined ringmaster Maria, though they constantly struggle against financial troubles. Their fortunes begin to change with the unexpected arrival of Mizuka Tsurumaki, a mysterious young girl with exceptional and prodigious circus talents who joins their ranks for reasons of her own.

The story follows the Sunflower Circus as it continues its tour, facing the daily challenges of putting on a show while striving to earn an invitation to the Circus Collection. The core of the narrative focuses on the interpersonal dynamics and personal growth of its highly individualistic members. This includes Ouka Kawasumi, the troupe's ambitious star trapeze artist, and Imari Agano, a shy and clumsy magician. Other members include the cool and stylish acrobat Isuzu Ikazuchi; Aoi and Akane Yura, a pair of twin acrobats; Shizuku Sakawa, the reliable catcher for aerial acts; Svetlana, an aerial silk performer; and Rin Mamiya, the unsung hero who handles accounting, first aid, and cooking for the group.

A notable narrative arc centers on the troupe's struggle for survival and recognition against the backdrop of the competitive circus world. The arrival of the genius Mizuka acts as a catalyst, challenging the other members to improve and reconsider their own dreams. As the Sunflower Circus navigates financial hardship, fierce competition, and the rigorous demands of their craft, the young performers confront their personal ambitions and pasts. The series depicts their journey as they learn to work as a cohesive unit, striving to create a unique and unforgettable show that will allow their sunflower circus to finally bloom on the grand stage of the Circus Collection.

The original anime is directed by Kanta Kamei, with series composition by Takeshi Kikuchi and original character designs by Kurehito Misaki. Animation production is a collaboration between A-1 Pictures and its creative label Psyde Kick Studio. The series is set to premiere in July 2026.
