Description
In a world where things fall apart, a quiet and skilled seamstress named Tsumugi makes her living by stitching them back together. Her latest task, however, is unlike any other. She finds herself in the company of Chise, a girl who is not quite alive, yet not quite gone. Tsumugi’s craft becomes the only thing preventing Chise from completely falling apart as she carefully mends the girl’s physical form with thread. The story is set in a grounded yet melancholic reality where this act of preservation blurs the line between the living and the undead. As Tsumugi continues her work, a delicate and tender bond forms between them, exploring the labor of love and the beauty found in broken things. The narrative focuses on this intimate relationship, moving through arcs that deal with the care of Chise’s decaying body and the emotional consequences of caring for someone who exists in a liminal state. The short anime adaptation is produced by Buta Productions and is scheduled to stream on YouTube.
