Rookie police officer Nao Ippongi arrives for her first day at the West Chinjuku Police Station, a rundown post in the citys entertainment district, only to discover she has been partnered with Meguru Chojo. A senior officer with a full arsenal of psychic abilities including telepathy, clairvoyance, and telekinesis, Chojo is also legendary for his laziness, selfishness, and complete refusal to do actual work. He uses his extraordinary powers to cheat at games, play pranks, and nap on the job, earning the contempt of both his colleagues and the local neighborhood.

Despite this disastrous introduction, the two are forced to work together to keep the peace in the chaotic town of Chinjuku. Ippongi, a black belt in judo with a fierce sense of justice and a short temper that has earned her the nickname Gorilla, soon finds her resolve tested not by dangerous criminals, but by her partners antics. The dynamic shifts when the yakuza threaten to take over Ippongis family dojo, prompting Chojo to finally take a situation seriously for the first time. This incident sparks an unlikely partnership, and the pair embark on a comedic whirlwind of crime-solving, psychic mishaps, and bizarre encounters with eccentric townsfolk.

The series follows the daily misadventures of this dysfunctional duo as they blunder through life as police officers. The precincts ranks are later rounded out by the addition of Cop-Bot, a goofy, childlike robot who adds a new layer of chaos to the station. The story balances crude slapstick humor with occasional moments of heart, as Ippongi catches glimpses of the capable officer Chojo could be beneath his childish exterior. Set against the backdrop of the red-light district, notable narrative arcs include Chojo facing a rival psychic, dealing with his unsettling former partner who tries to win him back, and the pair investigating cases ranging from petty theft to supernatural outbreaks. An anime television adaptation produced by Arvo Animation, directed by Junichi Yamamoto, and written by Hayashi Mori is scheduled to premiere in October 2026.
