In the shadow of a ruinous war, three young women serve as soldiers in a barren, snow-swept landscape. Their task is to scour the frozen wastes for stragglers of the Iron Army, eerie and formerly human flesh-weapons that were created for battle. The protagonist, Leichte, was herself born as a weapon. Now a war criminal in the aftermath of the global conflict, she carries out missions to eliminate these abandoned biological weapons alongside her comrades. At the Siberian base where they are stationed, Leichte and her companion Gros admire their stronger and wiser superior, Esus, who acts as their benefactor. Yet Esus carries unhealed wounds in her heart from the war.

The central conflict ignites when, during a mission, Esus disappears into a blizzard while pursuing a mysterious man. Leichte is torn by questions of betrayal and her true feelings for her commander. Somewhere out in the vast, deadly sea of snow lie answers to Esus pain and to the awful secret of the war itself. Driven by these questions, Leichte steps into the snowstorm to follow her.

The narrative arc follows Leichtes journey from an inexperienced soldier to someone who must confront the past directly. The setting is a desolate, isolated region littered with the remnants of the Iron Army, where the Leichtes individuals brought from a defeated nation to atone for war crimes live out their daily routines while consumed by memories of what they have lost. The film is a self-contained science fiction story, produced as an independent, crowdfunded labor of love by a collective of artists at Studio DOT, and it had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025.
