"Nanamental" is a science-fiction anime series set in a near-future world where advanced nanotechnology has become integrated into everyday life. The story revolves around a young prodigy named Akira Tachibana, who develops a revolutionary nanomachine called "NanoCore," capable of self-replication and adaptive learning. Akira's invention attracts the attention of a powerful conglomerate, NeoGenix, which seeks to exploit the technology for military and corporate dominance. When NeoGenix attempts to forcibly acquire NanoCore, Akira goes on the run, aided by a group of underground hackers known as the "NanoVanguard."

The narrative explores themes of technological ethics, corporate greed, and the societal implications of unchecked scientific advancement. Akira's journey is marked by a series of escalating conflicts as NeoGenix deploys its own nanotech-enhanced agents to capture him. Along the way, Akira encounters allies such as Rina Fujimoto, a former NeoGenix researcher disillusioned with the company's practices, and Kaito Sudo, a skilled hacker with a personal vendetta against the conglomerate. Together, they uncover a deeper conspiracy involving NeoGenix's plans to use nanotechnology for global surveillance and control.

The plot is driven by a combination of high-stakes action sequences, intricate hacking scenarios, and moral dilemmas surrounding the use of advanced technology. Akira's internal struggle with the potential misuse of NanoCore adds depth to the story, as he grapples with the responsibility of wielding such power.
