ONA
Description
Dorian is an elderly but immensely muscular man of towering stature, originating from the United States. He possesses long gray hair and a thick beard, though he later adopts a disguise with a shaved face and a prominent mustache. His past reveals that he was a private in the United States Army shortly after World War II, and was stationed in Japan where he began his study of martial arts. This path eventually led him to China, where he became a practitioner of Chinese Kenpo. He reached the esteemed rank of Kaioh, a title marking him as one of the greatest Chinese martial artists, and notably became the first Westerner in history to achieve this honor. He shares the same master, Ryu Kaioh, as the much younger Kaioh Retsu, making them fellow disciples from the same school, although Retsu attained his rank after Dorian had already left the temple.

Despite his profound martial arts background, Dorian’s personality is defined by a deep cynicism and an abandonment of traditional fighting honor. He is a calm and relaxed individual on the surface, but this masks a ruthless, cruel, and opportunistic nature. He is a genuine psychopath who believes in using any means necessary to secure victory, showing no regard for honor or fair play. In combat, he frequently relies on deception, trickery, and hidden weaponry instead of his formidable martial arts skill. One of his signature tactics is to suddenly burst into tears, bewildering his opponent and making them feel pity, only to launch a sneak attack the moment their guard is down. This deep-seated lack of faith in martial arts is central to his character; he believes that his cunning and diverse arsenal of tools are superior to the pure, disciplined skill of fighters like Doppo Orochi. Paradoxically, Dorian claims his greatest motivation is to experience genuine defeat, a desire that drives him to seek out the strongest possible opponents, even as his own methods prevent him from ever having a fair fight.

In the narrative, Dorian is one of the five main antagonists of the Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga. He is introduced after escaping a death sentence by hanging in a Washington prison, where he kills all the guards and leaves a message declaring his arrival in Tokyo. His role in the story is to systematically terrorize the dojos and fighters of Japan. He first invades the Shinshinkai dojo, effortlessly defeating Katsumi Orochi and engaging with Kaioh Retsu and Doppo Orochi. It is during this confrontation that he famously slices off Doppo’s hand using a nearly invisible piece of wire. His conflict with the Shinshinkai dojo intensifies when he brutally defeats and nearly kills Kiyosumi Katou, stuffing him inside a punching bag. This act makes him a sworn enemy of the entire dojo. His arrival in Japan, along with the other escaped convicts, forces an alliance among the underground arena fighters, setting the stage for a series of no-holds-barred battles across Tokyo.

Dorian’s key relationships are primarily antagonistic. His most significant connection is to Kaioh Retsu, his fellow disciple under Master Ryu Kaioh. This shared origin creates a complex dynamic where Retsu feels a sense of duty to confront him, but Dorian is haunted by their connection and his own wasted potential. He is a direct rival to Doppo Orochi, whom he wounds and then later attacks in a cowardly surprise assault. He also acts as a dark mirror to the young fighter Katsumi Orochi and a near-fatal obstacle for Kiyosumi Katou.

Dorian’s character undergoes a dramatic development, culminating in a psychological collapse. After being soundly defeated in a physical confrontation by Doppo, whose hand has been surgically reattached, Dorian resorts to a final, desperate surprise attack and then flees. His ultimate confrontation comes against Kaioh Retsu. During this fight, Retsu questions him about the nature of strength, forcing Dorian to realize the futility of his life spent seeking victory without honor. He comes to the devastating conclusion that his entire life, steeped in meaningless victories, was a form of defeat. This realization shatters his ego. After being knocked unconscious by Retsu, Dorian awakens with his mind regressed to that of a small, innocent five-year-old child. In this state, he loses all interest in fighting and is instead preoccupied with simple desires, such as eating candy and drawing.

Notable abilities extend beyond his official training in Chinese Kenpo. Dorian is a master of improvisation, using any object as a weapon. His signature tools include a spool of nearly invisible, indestructible titanium wire that he uses to strangle or dismember opponents, and broken glass bottles coated with oil or glue to create makeshift bladed knuckles. He conceals a variety of weapons on his person, including hidden blades in his boots and an explosive device implanted in his wrist. He can also store items inside his stomach, such as a grenade or a bottle of acid, which he can regurgitate to surprise his enemies. Dorian is also proficient in a form of hypnosis, using subtle gestures to cloud his opponents' senses and make them see or feel things that are not real, though this technique is most effective against those who underestimate him. Despite his immense size, he is surprisingly fast and has demonstrated feats of incredible strength, such as tunneling through solid rock with his bare hands.
