Description
Aaron LaPlante is an American voice actor and comedy performer based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Washington State, he began his career in sketch comedy, co-founding the independent sketch team Antfarm Recess and performing with the IO West house sketch team, The Mutiny. This background in character work, where he developed distinct voices for his onstage roles, eventually led him to a career in voice acting for animation and interactive media.

LaPlante has built an extensive portfolio of voice work in anime dubs. He voiced the role of Kashin Ikeda (also referred to as Professor Ikeda) in the Crunchyroll dub of the romantic comedy series Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. He is also the English dub voice for the character Antonio Lopez, known as the superhero Rock Bison, in the second season of the superhero series Tiger & Bunny 2, taking over the role from Travis Willingham. His work for Marvel Animated Features includes voicing two characters in the series Marvel Future Avengers Season 2: the Inhuman Gorgon and the giant Inhuman dog Lockjaw.

Beyond these specific credits, LaPlante's career in voice acting spans over fifteen years and includes a wide variety of roles in film, television, and video games. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his original animation role as the grunting and screaming voice of Spear, the caveman protagonist in Genndy Tartakovsky's Emmy Award-winning series Primal for Adult Swim. Another prominent performance was as the voice and motion capture actor for The Duke, a merchant character in the multi-award-winning video game Resident Evil Village. His other notable anime credits include roles in major series such as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Throughout his career, LaPlante has been part of several notable ensembles. In 2018, he was part of the cast that won a Behind the Voice Actors Television Voice Acting Award for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Television Series for their work on Samurai Jack.
