Description
Ai Hayakawa is one of the two main protagonists of the anime, a twelve-year-old girl who, along with her twin brother Yu, ventures into the mysterious parallel dimension known as Wonderland. The twins reside on the island of Sadoshima in Japan, where their parents, geologists Joe and Mary Hayakawa, disappeared after traveling to Wonderland for a second research trip. When their parents failed to return, Ai was the one who suggested they go to Wonderland to search for them, ultimately convincing her more cautious brother to agree.
In terms of personality, Ai is characterized as energetic, intensely curious, and very outgoing, often displaying a positive attitude. However, she is also distinctly more feisty, brash, and practical than her brother. She has a very short temper and can fly into a blind rage over small annoyances, particularly when faced with the bizarre or mischievous behavior of Wonderland's creatures.
