Description
Jennifer Sato is a 31-year-old woman who works as an agent for the International Monetary Fund, or IMF, an organization that sends her to investigate the mysterious Financial District and its effects on the real world. Her role is that of an observer and analyst, tasked with uncovering the purpose of the Financial District and finding a way to stop its expansion before it causes further harm to reality. At the same time, she is also invited to become an Entré, a participant in the high-stakes economic battles known as Deals, which allows her to gather intelligence from within the system.

Jennifer is a striking figure, tall with long blonde or white hair, typically dressed in a pantsuit that reflects her professional demeanor. Her most notable personal trait is a powerful sweet tooth; she is almost always seen eating something, whether it is a lollipop, candy, donuts, taiyaki, parfait, or fast food like hamburgers and french fries. She often has a large quantity of food on hand, such as having three burgers in her car at one time. Despite being able to speak Japanese fluently, she speaks with a distinctive Western intonation that can come across as unnatural or forced. Her manner is generally casual and direct, often breaking a serious atmosphere with her snacking habits.

Motivation drives Jennifer to understand the true cost of the Financial District. While her initial reason for being there is professional, she becomes personally concerned about the district's movements and its implications. She is not primarily motivated by the pursuit of wealth like some other Entrés; instead, her goals align more with protecting the real world and reclaiming the futures that have been taken by the Midas Bank. She sees in the protagonist, Kimimaro Yoga, a person with the same understanding that there are things more important than money, which makes her interested in him and his choices. Throughout much of the story, she remains on the sidelines, reporting her findings but unable to act directly without orders from her superiors, even as she witnesses the destructive consequences of bankruptcy.

Jennifer's role in the story evolves from an observer to an active ally for Kimimaro. Initially, she is seen watching the Financial District and its players, particularly the powerful Entré Soichiro Mikuni, whose sudden interest in Kimimaro piques her curiosity. She eventually reaches out to Kimimaro directly, discussing the nature of the C currency and Mikuni's plans, and she persuades him not to simply follow Mikuni's path. Later, she and Kimimaro form a partnership to stop Mikuni. In a key operation, Jennifer acts as a diversion, allowing Kimimaro to tie up Mikuni's allies while she confronts Mikuni directly in a Deal.

Her key relationships are primarily professional, yet they carry weight. Her connection with Mikuni is adversarial, as she sees him as a threat and attempts to steal his black Midas Card to reverse the flow of Midas Money into reality. Her relationship with Kimimaro is built on mutual understanding and shared goals; she sees him as a kindred spirit and eventually entrusts him with her most precious possession. The most significant relationship, however, is with her Asset, Georges. This powerful, wolf-like creature with wings and a single horn on its forehead is described as her future itself. Georges is incredibly strong, which has allowed Jennifer, who is not an aggressive dealer, to survive for a long time without going bankrupt.

Jennifer's development culminates in a direct confrontation with Mikuni. Despite her careful planning and the strength of Georges, she is ultimately defeated. In a dramatic scene, she is metaphorically sliced in half, with black bills bleeding from her body as she goes bankrupt. Before disappearing, she passes her Asset, Georges, to Kimimaro, telling him that it represents her future and asking him to take care of it. This act is a final, selfless decision to entrust her hopes to another person. Nevertheless, after the events of the final Deal between Mikuni and another character named Yoga, when the flow of money is controlled and fragments of peoples' futures are returned, Jennifer reappears alive and well. She is last seen sitting on some steps, once again eating a lollipop, observing the world around her.

In terms of abilities within the Financial District, Jennifer is a capable but cautious Entré. She has entered the Financial District 55 times but has only initiated a Deal on 11 occasions, preferring to avoid unnecessary battles. Her card is a gold card, indicating a certain level of status. The power of her Asset, Georges, is formidable and is the primary reason for her survival. Georges possesses a mesoflation ability called "EBO" (Employee Buy Out), which generates a thick fog that cloaks their battle style and confuses opponents, making it difficult for them to locate Jennifer or assess her abilities. The most powerful technique is the macroflation "M&A" (Merger and Acquisitions), which allows her to take control of an opponent's Asset, disassembling it into Midas Money and rebuilding it under her command. However, this ability is risky to use; it causes visible damage and pain to Georges, whose horn cracks under the strain, and its use is therefore very limited. Georges is also a shapeshifter, able to take on Jennifer's form to create deceptive illusions during a battle.
