Description
Baby is a fictional parasitic extraterrestrial supervillain from the anime Dragon Ball GT, serving as the series' first main antagonist and the longest-running villain in the show's run. His origins lie in the destruction of the Tuffle (or Tsufuru-jin) race, a technologically advanced species that was wiped out by the aggressive Saiyans. Baby was created as the last hope for his people; he is an artificial life form that incorporates the DNA of the Tuffle King, who fused himself into the creation to preserve his legacy before the Saiyans completed their genocide. Launched into space in an incomplete fetal state, Baby later created the machine mutant Dr. Myuu to serve his purposes and oversee his completion, manipulating him from behind the scenes.

The core of Baby's personality is a deep-seated, fanatical hatred for the Saiyan race, driving his single-minded goal to avenge his people and exterminate every last Saiyan. This quest for revenge borders on fantastic racism; he constantly refers to Saiyans with degrading slurs such as savages, monkeys, and simian bastards. Despite his sophisticated and cunning nature, which allows him to dominate powerful warriors, Baby possesses a deeply immature and childish side. He is highly prone to taunting and mockery but flies into a blind rage when teased himself. This makes him a massive hypocrite, as he condemns the Saiyans for their violent and barbaric conquests while resorting to the exact same brutal measures. He even steals the body of Vegeta because he recognizes the limitless potential of Saiyan power, ironically becoming the very thing he claims to despise. His motives are also shown to be petty; even after the original Saiyans were destroyed by Frieza long ago, Baby refuses to let go of his grudge against their descendants, who had no part in the historical crime.

In the story, Baby is a parasitic entity whose primary method of attack is body manipulation. He can liquefy himself and enter a host through a wound, taking over their mind and body while also enhancing their power. His strategy is methodical: upon arriving on Earth, he possesses warriors in ascending order of strength, starting with Goten, then moving to Gohan, before finally achieving his goal of taking over Vegeta, the second strongest Saiyan. While inhabiting a host, Baby can also lay parasitic eggs that allow him to brainwash and control other individuals from a distance. He successfully uses this ability to enslave nearly the entire population of Earth, turning the heroes' friends and families against them. After conquering Earth, Baby uses the Black Star Dragon Balls to restore the Tuffles' home planet, Planet Plant, renaming it Planet Tuffle, and relocates the brainwashed Earthlings there to serve as the new Tuffle race.

Baby's key relationships are defined by his revenge scheme. He views Dr. Myuu, his creator, as a mere tool and callously kills him once he is no longer useful. His primary relationship with the heroes is parasitic and antagonistic. His most significant host is Vegeta, creating the powerful fusion known as Baby Vegeta, which serves as his main body for the climax of the arc. He also has a direct adversarial relationship with Goku, who ultimately becomes the only warrior capable of stopping him.

Throughout the Baby arc, Baby undergoes significant physical development. He begins in a weak, fetal state but grows stronger with each new host. After possessing Vegeta, he achieves several powerful transformations, including Super Baby 1 and Super Baby 2, which grant him silver hair, red facial markings, and immense power. His final and most powerful form is the Golden Great Ape, achieved when Bulma, under his control, uses a Blutz Wave amplifier on his Baby Vegeta body. While this form grants him incredible strength that rivals or even surpasses Super Saiyan 4 Goku, it nearly causes him to degenerate into a mindless beast, though Baby maintains his consciousness and cunning.

Baby possesses a wide array of notable abilities beyond parasitic possession. He demonstrates regeneration, the ability to manipulate his own body, and the power to absorb energy from those under his control to fuel his own transformations. He is a powerful fighter capable of energy attacks, many of which are named with the word revenge, such as the Revenge Death Ball. He is also incredibly resilient, surviving attacks that should have destroyed him and requiring a combined effort from Goku and Uub (fused with Majin Buu as Majuub) to finally be defeated. Ultimately, Baby is expelled from Vegeta's body and is finally destroyed when Goku blasts his escaping spaceship into the sun.
