Description
Emporio Ivankov, known as the "Miracle Person" and the "Queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom," is a prominent figure in the world as a commander of the Revolutionary Army. Ivankov stands an impressive 449 centimeters tall and has a very distinctive appearance, characterized by a massive, square-shaped head, enormous violet afro hair, long eyelashes, prominent lips, and heavy, flamboyant makeup that is thick enough to provide protection against certain toxins like Magellan's venom. The typical attire includes a form-fitting fuchsia wrestling singlet, fishnet stockings, and a queen's crown, reflecting an extravagant and unapologetic fashion sense. Using the powers of the Horm-Horm Fruit, Ivankov can also transform into a slender, strikingly attractive female form at will.

The backstory is marked by a past as a slave of the World Nobles, the Celestial Dragons. Decades before the present storyline, during the incident at God Valley, Ivankov, alongside fellow slaves Bartholomew Kuma and Ginny, seized an opportunity to escape. Together, they stole Devil Fruits that were prizes for a hunting contest; although Big Mom snatched the fruit Ivankov held, Kuma successfully ate his. Following this escape, Ivankov later joined forces with Monkey D. Dragon. Together, they led a volunteer army to liberate the Sorbet Kingdom, an act that helped form the foundation of what would become the Revolutionary Army.

Personality is as outsized as physical appearance. Ivankov is an exuberant, theatrical, and charismatic individual with an unshakable belief in freedom and equality, insisting that no one should be judged for their lineage, gender, or race. Often exclaiming with a signature "Hee-ha," speech patterns are energetic and flamboyant, frequently using feminine speech and creative nicknames. Beneath this eccentric exterior lies a sharp intellect, vast experience, and a strong sense of responsibility as both a queen and a military leader. Ivankov famously rejects the title of "Miracle Person," stating that miracles only occur for those who never give up and that the role was simply to stimulate people's inner strength. As a firm believer in the power of will, the decision to help someone is not taken lightly; for instance, the choice to heal Monkey D. Luffy from Magellan's deadly poison came only after witnessing Luffy's selfless determination to save his friend Bon Clay first.

The primary motivation is the pursuit of total freedom, a goal forged from the traumatic experience of slavery. This drive aligns perfectly with the mission of the Revolutionary Army, where Ivankov is one of the founders and highest-ranking officers, working directly under Commander-in-Chief Monkey D. Dragon. Role in the story is pivotal during the Impel Down and Marineford arcs. After being imprisoned in Level 5 of Impel Down on false charges, Ivankov used a hidden passage to create "Newkama Land" on the nonexistent Level 5.5, a secret haven for escaped prisoners. Upon meeting Luffy, initially refused to help until discovering that Luffy is Dragon's son. Once committed, Ivankov played a crucial role in the legendary prison break, using powers to heal Luffy, allying with former enemies like Crocodile and Jinbe, and fighting off the Warden Magellan and the Chief Guard Sadi. At the Battle of Marineford, continued to support Luffy by injecting Tension Hormones to temporarily give him the strength to continue fighting, engaging the cyborg Bartholomew Kuma, and briefly clashing with Admiral Akainu to allow Luffy and Jinbe to escape.

Key relationships are deeply integral to the character's history. There is a long-standing and profound comradeship with Monkey D. Dragon, built on mutual respect and revolutionary ideals. Another foundational relationship is with Bartholomew Kuma, whom Ivankov helped escape from slavery and later fought alongside, making their inevitable battle at Marineford, against a Kuma stripped of his will and humanity, a moment of great personal pain. Ivankov also holds a secret about Sir Crocodile, a piece of information that was used to leverage the former Warlord's cooperation during the Impel Down escape. Following the war and the two-year timeskip, Ivankov became an unlikely mentor to Sanji of the Straw Hat Pirates, who had been sent flying to the Kamabakka Kingdom. To test his resolve and help him grow stronger, Ivankov challenged Sanji to defeat 99 masters of Newkama Kenpo in order to obtain the kingdom's secret recipes.

Character development is revealed through fragmented backstory that shifts the perception from a mere comedic figure to a tragic survivor and liberator. The journey from a broken slave at God Valley to a queen who offers a home and identity to the outcasts of the world is a testament to an unbreakable will. The leadership of Kamabakka Kingdom, known as the "Pink Paradise," is a direct extension of this, creating a community where "newkama" (okama) are free to live as they are.

Notable abilities stem from consuming the Paramecia-class Horm-Horm Fruit, which transforms fingers into syringes to inject various hormones into oneself or others, effectively making Ivankov a "human body engineer". The primary techniques include Emporio Healing Hormone, which jumpstarts the immune system to cure poisons and diseases at the cost of several years of the recipient's life; Emporio Tension Hormone, a powerful adrenaline shot that temporarily eliminates fatigue and grants immense strength, followed by a severe crash; and Emporio Female or Male Hormone, which can permanently change the biological sex of a person, a power often used for dramatic effect or to gain an edge in combat. Combat is further enhanced by mastery of "Newkama Kenpo," a unique martial art. The signature offensive move is the "Death Wink," a high-speed blink that generates a powerful explosive blast of air, confirmed not to be a form of Haki. By using the growth hormone to enlarge the head, this can be amplified into the far more destructive "Hell Wink," or combined with afterimages to create the devastating "Galaxy Wink".
