Gatomon, a Holy Beast Digimon, is the partner to Kari Kamiya. Created alongside the other DigiDestined Digimon to maintain balance between good and evil, her Digi-Egg was separated during an escape from the Dark Masters. Hatched as Nyaromon, she digivolved into Salamon and searched for her destined partner before capture by Myotismon. She endured physical and emotional abuse under his command, forgetting her purpose and serving as his lieutenant. During this time, she developed a rivalry with DemiDevimon while maintaining a friendship with Wizardmon. Upon arriving in the real world with Myotismon's forces, Gatomon detected Kari as her destined partner. When Myotismon captured Gatomon and used her to identify Kari, Wizardmon sacrificed himself to protect them. This act triggered Gatomon's digivolution into Angewomon, enabling her to defeat Myotismon. Emotional scars from her past, including visible injuries hidden under her gloves, shaped her independent and perceptive personality, though she gradually grew more playful and sociable over time. Later, Gatomon temporarily lost her tail ring during conflicts with the Digimon Emperor, reducing her strength to Rookie-level. Gennai returned the ring, explaining its role in containing dark energy and enabling armor digivolution. During *Digimon Adventure tri.*, she was separated from Kari but reunited when infected Digimon appeared. Gatomon fought alongside other Digimon against threats like Alphamon and Meicrackmon, becoming infected herself during a battle. This led to her reversion to Nyaromon after the Digital World's reboot. She later re-digivolved to Salamon and then Gatomon as her bond with Kari strengthened. In *Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna*, Gatomon participated in the battle against Eosmon alongside the other DigiDestined. During the global conflict, she contributed to the collective effort to stop Menoa Bellucci's plan, which involved trapping DigiDestined in perpetual childhood. The film culminated in the restoration of the Digital World.
