Description
Misae Nohara is the mother of the Nohara household, a twenty-nine-year-old homemaker living with her husband Hiroshi, her five-year-old son Shinnosuke, her infant daughter Himawari, and their pet dog Shiro in Kasukabe, Saitama. In the film Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Ora-tachi no Kyōryū Nikki, she continues to fill the same central family role she holds throughout the series: the primary caretaker who manages the home, prepares meals, and keeps a watchful eye on her energetic son.

Her personality is a blend of strong-willed impatience and genuine warmth. She is quick to anger over Shinnosuke’s mischief and often delivers physical discipline, but her irritation is balanced by a deeply caring nature. She is frugal and budget-conscious, frequently hunting for supermarket bargains, yet she also indulges in small luxuries for herself and her daughter. Despite her short temper, she is devoted to her family’s well-being and will defend them fiercely when needed.

Within the story of this dinosaur-themed adventure, Misae’s primary motivation is the safety and happiness of her children and husband. She supports the family as they become involved with a revived dinosaur theme park and the arrival of a small dinosaur named Nana. Her role is that of a grounding presence: she worries about the chaos around her but ultimately trusts her family and stands by them through the extraordinary events.

Her key relationships remain with Hiroshi, whom she often bosses around but also relies on, and with Shinnosuke, whose antics frustrate her but whose growth she silently encourages. She is protective of Himawari and shows care for Shiro, though she does not take center stage compared to the children and the dinosaur. In terms of development, she does not undergo a major personal arc in this film; rather, her steady, maternal strength provides emotional stability amid the humorous and dramatic turns.

Notable abilities include her domestic skills in cooking and cleaning, as well as a surprising physical energy when chasing after her son or dealing with household crises. She is also adept at managing the family budget, even if her penny-pinching plans often fail. While she has no supernatural or combat talents, her determination and resourcefulness as a mother make her a resilient character.
