Risu, a magic-user marked by hardship and rare curse abilities, was born incapable of producing smoke—a flaw that condemned him to lifelong ostracism and abuse, forging deep-seated insecurity and distrust. Branded as low-class for his inability to wield conventional magic, he sought power through the Cross-Eyes gang, rising within its ranks by securing resources and education while forging a pivotal bond with Aikawa. His latent curse magic, dormant until death, triggered betrayal: the gang’s Boss orchestrated his murder, awakening a spectral entity bound to hunt his killer. His preserved head, recovered over a year later, was resurrected in a smoke-fueled robotic body by En’s faction. Reborn into a mechanical form, Risu grappled with fractured identity and physical limitations. Reuniting with his curse specter merged his consciousness with its vengeful essence, transforming him into a hybrid being. When sensing hostility, he shifts into Curse—a skeletal figure draped in chains—gaining flight, immense strength, and near-invulnerability. This power came at a cost: erratic possession by Curse caused collateral violence, including the Landlady’s accidental death. Gradually mastering control, he wielded the entity defensively while confronting former allies like Dokuga. Central to his journey was Aikawa, revealed as part of the same entity as Kaiman’s creator, Kai. Learning of Aikawa’s complicity in his death plunged Risu into betrayal and grief. Their final clash during the battle against Devil Kai ended with Risu severing Aikawa’s head—a request that dissolved the curse but stripped Risu of power, reigniting his shame over magical inadequacy. A mute clone, crafted from a roast duck recipe by Turkey, briefly echoed Risu’s existence. Mirroring his appearance and protective drive, the puppet assaulted En’s family to shield Risu’s hidden head. Its destruction by Shin exposed the preserved relic, enabling his resurrection. Physically, Risu boasts a muscular frame, dark-tipped hair, and a grey outfit studded with metallic stakes. Post-resurrection, his form oscillated between human and spectral Curse. His personality—a blend of cunning, violence, and fragility—stemmed from childhood trauma and isolation. Though fleeting stability came through alliances with Nikaido and Asu, his thirst for revenge and distrust endured, anchoring his tragic narrative.
