Jean-Pierre Polnareff is a French Stand user, first a core ally in Stardust Crusaders and later a pivotal figure in Vento Aureo. His quest for vengeance began when J. Geil, a man with two right hands, murdered his sister Sherry Polnareff. This pursuit led DIO to recruit and brainwash Polnareff using Jonathan Joestar's Stand ability. Freed by Jotaro Kujo, Polnareff joined the Joestar Group's journey to Egypt, where he sustained grave injuries battling Vanilla Ice, losing two fingers on his left hand and all toes on his left foot. After DIO's defeat, Polnareff dedicated himself to tracking Stand arrows worldwide. His investigation centered on Passione, an Italian criminal organization escalating drug-related crimes across Europe. This mission brought him into conflict with Passione's Boss, Diavolo. Near a cliffside, Diavolo's Stand, King Crimson, inflicted critical injuries: both legs lost above the knees, his right forearm, and his right eye. These injuries necessitated a wheelchair, a stylized eyepatch, and a prosthetic forearm—first a spike evoking Silver Chariot, later replaced by a more realistic prosthetic with two artificial fingers. Confined to his wheelchair and hiding in an isolated rural community, Polnareff located a Stand arrow. While retrieving it, his Stand, Silver Chariot, accidentally pierced the arrow, triggering an uncontrolled transformation into Silver Chariot Requiem. This autonomous Stand manipulated souls, forcing nearby beings to sleep and swapping their souls. Polnareff reversed the transformation but recognized Requiem's potential against Diavolo, though his physical limitations prevented wielding it. Seeking allies, Polnareff covertly aided Team Bucciarati, Passione rebels opposing Diavolo. He arranged a meeting at Rome's Colosseum to deliver the arrow, hoping it would enable a Stand evolution to counter King Crimson's time-erasure. Diavolo, disguised as his subordinate Doppio, ambushed Polnareff during the encounter. Mortally wounded, Polnareff commanded Silver Chariot to seize the arrow, triggering a second, permanent transformation into Silver Chariot Requiem. This caused a mass soul-swap across Rome. Polnareff's soul migrated into Coco Jumbo, a turtle possessing the Stand Mr. President, which provided sanctuary. From within the turtle, he guided Team Bucciarati by revealing Diavolo's identity and Stand abilities. Following Diavolo's defeat, Polnareff's soul remained indefinitely within Coco Jumbo, sustained by Mr. President's power to safeguard spirits. Silver Chariot Requiem, now independent, continued its soul-manipulation rampage until Diavolo destroyed it in the final battle. Physically, Polnareff retained his muscular build, silver flat-top hairstyle, and broken-heart earrings. He wore a modified Stardust Crusaders outfit—a black tube top with shoulder pads and lace detailing, paired with light-colored trousers and kneepads. His disabilities remained consistently visible, emphasizing his reliance on mobility aids and prosthetics. Personality-wise, Polnareff displayed greater maturity compared to his earlier boisterous and impulsive self. The trauma of his injuries and isolation fostered a serious, focused demeanor, though he retained traces of his former bombast and bluntness. His strategic acumen proved vital, enabling him to deduce King Crimson's time-erasure ability and orchestrate the arrow's transfer to Giorno Giovanna. Honor remained central to his character, driving his self-sacrifice to ensure Diavolo's downfall.
