Description
Diablo, originally named Noir, ranks among the seven Primordial Demons forged from the Great Holy Spirit of darkness to counterbalance the Seven Angels of Origin. As the Primordial Black, he ruled the Daemon realm for millennia, clashing intermittently with fellow Primordials—most notably Guy Crimson, with whom he fought to a stalemate. Disillusioned by endless power struggles, he abandoned conquest for capricious engagements with human societies, observing history unfold from hidden vantage points.

His fascination with Rimuru Tempest ignited after witnessing Shizue Izawa repel him via an anti-magic mask, which shattered upon Rimuru’s touch. Convinced Rimuru held the "truth of the world," he engineered his own summoning during Tempest’s clash with Falmuth, sacrificing two subordinate demons to guarantee selection. Renamed "Diablo" by Rimuru, he ascended from Archdaemon to Demon Lord, cementing his role as the slime’s cunning strategist and devoted butler.

Physically, Diablo embodies an elegant menace: black hair cascades with crimson and gold streaks, framing golden eyes marked by scarlet pupils and obsidian sclera. Post-evolution, his aristocratic attire shifted to a refined butler uniform, though he retains the ability to summon bat-like wings and shift gender—preferring a male guise.

His arsenal includes immunity to physical, mental, and spiritual assaults, paired with dominion over dark and elemental magics. Key abilities encompass "Tempter" for bending wills, "Temptation King (Azazel)" to warp time and space, and the cataclysmic "End of the World Requiem." While his combat might rivals Tempest’s strongest, his tactical genius and millennia-honed insight eclipse brute force.

Unwavering loyalty to Rimuru fuels his ruthlessly efficient service. He forged the Black Numbers—an elite corps of hundreds of demons, including fellow Primordials Testarossa, Carrera, and Ultima—to become Tempest’s paramount military force. Diplomatic machinations, such as coercing Falmuth’s surrender through veiled threats, advanced Rimuru’s vision of human-monster coexistence.

A debt to Shizue led him to aid her student Tiss against a spectral menace. Post-summoning, his evolution to Demon King earned him a seat among the Twelve Guardian Lords. Though the Sky Queen Elmesia fears his latent volatility, Rimuru’s trust persists, bolstered by Diablo’s dread of dismissal and relentless dedication.

Expanded lore depicts him maneuvering through covert operations and alternate realities, always furthering Rimuru’s influence. Rivalries with Shion and alliances with figures like Ranga reveal a layered persona—aristocratic yet wry, composed yet capable of pettiness.

Once a solitary force of primordial chaos, Diablo now anchors Tempest’s political and military ascendancy. Whether recruiting allies, preempting threats, or unleashing devastation, every act serves Rimuru’s ambitions, casting Diablo as both guardian and herald of Tempest’s rising hegemony.
