Description
Negi Springfield, a ten-year-old Welsh prodigy mage, is the son of the legendary "Thousand Master" Nagi Springfield and Arika Anarchia Entheofushia, the last Queen of Vespertatia. Demons attacked his village in childhood, petrifying villagers and causing his father's disappearance, leading Negi to dedicate himself to magical studies. He graduated top of his class from magic school at age nine and was assigned to teach English at Japan's Mahora Academy all-girls junior high as training to become a Magister Magi.

Initially struggling with classroom management and concealing his magic, Negi gradually earned his students' respect through maturity and dedication. Key early challenges involved helping underperforming students pass exams and confronting the vampire Evangeline A.K. McDowell. These events prompted him to form temporary magical Pactio contracts, sealed by kisses, granting artifacts to his partners. His own artifact, "Mille Vincula," allows access to any partner's artifact.

Following the Mahora Festival arc, Negi formed the combat team Ala Alba ("White Wing") under Evangeline's guidance, named in homage to his father's Ala Rubra ("Crimson Wing"). Core members included seven Pactio partners (Asuna Kagurazaka, Nodoka Miyazaki, Setsuna Sakurazaki, Konoka Konoe, Yue Ayase, Haruna Saotome, Chisame Hasegawa), plus Ku Fei, Kaede Nagase, Ako Izumi, Chachamaru Karakuri, and Kotaro Inugami. This group aimed to locate Nagi by traveling to the magical dimension Mundus Magicus.

Specializing in his father's wind and lightning magic, Negi trained in martial arts under Ku Fei to overcome physical limitations, mastering techniques like instant movement (shundou) and protective barriers. His combat skills advanced significantly through training with Evangeline and the warrior Jack Rakan. He eventually learned the dangerous dark art Magia Erebea, absorbing spells into his body, and developed original techniques like "Spell Synthesis: Lightning God Lance Titan Slayer." Prolonged Magia Erebea use caused physical corruption marks to spread across his body.

Personality-wise, Negi exhibits remarkable maturity for his age, demonstrating kindness, optimism, and deep commitment to his students' well-being. He retains childhood naivete regarding romantic feelings and pushes himself excessively in training, causing concern among allies. His determination to find his father drives his actions.

In later life, Negi married Chisame Hasegawa and became stepfather to Evangeline. He died at age 71 in an alternate timeline, with descendants including Chao Lingshen and grandson Touta Konoe. As leader of Ala Alba, he united human and magical allies to thwart the Cosmo Entelecheia organization's plan to erase Mundus Magicus's inhabitants, ultimately locating his father.
