Description
Jô Azuma emerges as a Japanese high school student in 1970s Japan, awakening latent psychic powers—notably telekinesis—after a confrontation with agents of the cosmic entity Genma. Under the mentorship of Vega, a disciplined cyborg warrior, and Luna, a Transylvanian princess gifted with prophetic visions, he hones his unstable abilities to resist Genma’s encroaching invasion. His formative years are anchored by a deep bond with his protective older sister Michiko, whose influence shapes his emotional resilience and drives his defiance against existential threats.

As global warfare against Genma intensifies, Jô allies with an international coalition of psychics: a Chinese martial artist harnessing chi, a Navajo spirit-channeling combatant, and a hardened Brooklyn gang tactician. Their collaboration embodies unity across cultural divides. His powers escalate from manipulating minor objects to commanding colossal forces, paralleled by turbulent clashes with his own volatile anger and moral dilemmas over wielding such strength. A defining lapse sees him dangerously pushing telekinetic boundaries, underscoring both his expanding skill and unresolved impulsivity.

Decades later, an adult Jô resurfaces in a rewritten timeline as a paranormal investigator and author, covertly employed to unveil psychic phenomena to the public. Haunted by splintered memories of the original timeline’s annihilation, he vanishes under enigmatic circumstances, entrusting others to sustain his unfinished crusade. His impact ripples through alternate realities, including one where his daughter Stella partners with a time-displaced Luna to preempt Genma’s war through temporal intervention.

Parallel narratives diverge into spin-offs: Michiko’s odyssey to ancient Greece following a thwarted Genma assault reveals historical ties to the conflict, while a younger Jô in a novel continuity establishes the anti-Genma militia Genken after a precognitive vision. His sudden exit strands the group to evolve without him, cementing his multiverse role as an elusive linchpin for resistance movements. Across iterations, his arc oscillates between intimate struggles—particularly his fraught loyalty to Michiko—and epochal battles against cyclical cosmic corruption, transitioning from a hesitant adolescent hero to a spectral figure manipulating fate from rewritten history’s shadows.
