Description
Ran is an orphaned teenager driven by the memory of his mother's death during crossfire between the Rodoist cult and Hazard rebels. He witnessed her killing but saw only the distinctive scars on the killer's chest, fueling his desire for revenge and survival in the desertified world. Initially impulsive, Ran sought to join the Hazard faction to find the scarred man. His path changed when he encountered Aira, a silver-haired girl pursued by both factions. After Hazard leader Kiba—whose scars match those of Ran's mother's killer—captured Aira, Ran abandoned his plan to join Hazard. He stole a pressure suit to pursue her transport across the lethal desert.

During this pursuit, Ran nearly died from oxygen depletion before being rescued by merchant Jeke, unbeknownst to him his estranged father and Hazard's original founder. Jeke aided Ran in infiltrating a Rodoist sandship to reach Aira, but Rodoists recaptured her. Ran persisted, reaching the central Rodo monolith, "Holy Green," where Aira was held. There, he discovered the Rodo's plan to terraform Earth by transforming humanity into plant life, requiring Aira's unique abilities.

At the climax, Ran's relentless shouting of Aira's name within the monolith disrupted the terraforming ritual. This fractured the synchronization of the silver-haired maidens, halting the transformation and preserving humanity. Despite this outcome, Ran failed to achieve his personal goals: Kiba remained unpunished, and Ran's actions were reactive rather than strategically significant. His journey concluded without legendary achievements, emphasizing his role as an accidental catalyst through happenstance.
