Description
Asmodeus Alice is the heir to the prestigious Asmodeus family, one of the most powerful and noble lineages in the demon world. He is a tall, slender demon with fair skin, medium-length light-pink hair, and pointed ears, his magenta eyes framed by long, feminine eyelashes. Rather than wearing the standard Babyls school uniform, Asmodeus typically dresses in his own formal attire, consisting of a black dress shirt under a white waistcoat, an elegant white overcoat with gold trim, and matching white trousers and gold-trimmed boots.
At the beginning of his time at Babyls Demon School, Asmodeus was egotistical and self-centered, a demeanor cultivated by his noble status and his prodigious talent. He entered the school with the highest marks in the entrance examination and was expected to give the freshman representative speech. When the principal instead had Iruma Suzuki give the speech, Asmodeus confronted Iruma and challenged him to a duel. Despite his immense magical power, Asmodeus was unable to land a single hit on Iruma due to the human's extraordinary evasion abilities, and was ultimately defeated. Following this humbling loss, Asmodeus underwent a dramatic transformation. He pledged his undying loyalty to Iruma, declaring himself Iruma's loyal servant and devoting himself entirely to Iruma's well-being and success.
To most people, Asmodeus remains cold, blunt, and dismissive, showing little interest in anyone who has not earned his respect. However, around Iruma, his demeanor completely changes. He becomes cheerful, warm, and openly adoring, often speaking at length about Iruma to anyone who will listen. He takes immense pride in his abilities and his family's fire magic, seeing them as symbols of his heritage, but he channels that pride primarily toward serving Iruma's ambitions.
As the story progresses, Asmodeus grows from a solitary prodigy into a trusted companion and a key member of the Abnormal Class, also known as the Misfit Class. His role is consistently that of Iruma's most devoted protector and right hand. He frequently acts as an interpreter of demon world customs and norms for Iruma, leveraging his intelligence and knowledge of demon society. He is also a rare voice of common sense within the chaotic Abnormal Class, often serving as a straight man to the more eccentric members, though this composure shatters whenever Iruma is involved.
His key relationships define much of his development. His bond with Iruma Suzuki is the central pillar of his character; he views Iruma not just as a master but as a friend, a concept he takes so seriously that he compares it to a blood oath. He shares a competitive, bickering friendship with Clara Valac, whom he often calls a fool but has grown to accept as a fellow close companion to Iruma. The two frequently compete over who can better serve or support Iruma. Asmodeus also has a significant rivalry with Sabnock Sabro, another powerful member of the Abnormal Class. Initially antagonistic, their relationship evolves through shared battles and training into a deep mutual respect and effective partnership. His mother, Amaryllis Asmodeus, is one of the Thirteen Crowns and the Head of Seduction; while Asmodeus loves her, he is frequently embarrassed by her overbearing affection and her public persona.
Asmodeus is exceptionally gifted in combat, with fire magic being his primary specialization. He can conjure fireballs, create swords and whips made of flame, and erect defensive walls of fire. He has also developed a powerful blue flame technique known as Amaryllis, which can absorb and overpower other flames. Beyond magic, he possesses exorbitant physical strength, able to block heavy attacks and catch large falling objects with one arm. He is also a highly capable flyer, using his wings with great speed and endurance. Through training, he has learned to intentionally enter his Wicked Phase, or Evil Cycle, a state that unlocks his maximum power but comes at the cost of his rationality, making him wild, sadistic, and prone to losing control. His familiar is a Gorgon Snake, a winged, serpentine creature.
Throughout major story arcs, Asmodeus consistently demonstrates his loyalty and strategic mind. During the Execution Cannonball event, he struggled with being placed on the opposing team from Iruma but ultimately chose to fight seriously out of respect for Iruma's determination. In the Battler Party arc, his thorough knowledge of the school's layout helped guide Iruma to stop a sabotage plot. During the Harvest Festival, he teamed with Sabro and entered his Evil Cycle to defeat powerful beasts, though he was disqualified for directly attacking another student who threatened Iruma. He was one of the first in his class to achieve the rank of Daleth (4), and after the Musical Festival, he advanced to the rank of He (5). Asmodeus's journey is one of channeling immense innate talent and aristocratic pride into selfless service, finding purpose and genuine connection through his unwavering devotion to Iruma.
