Elliot Leguizamo
Description
Elliot Leguizamo is a Mexican voice actor known for his work in anime dubbing for Latin American Spanish. Born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, he is a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (U.A.E.M.), where he studied visual arts. His interest in storytelling through writing, animation, and comics naturally led him toward a career in performance.
Leguizamo began his career in voice acting in April 2015. His entry into the field was encouraged by his professor, David Pérez, who was also an actor and connected him with a dubbing company. He is known for his vocal versatility, often taking on roles that require him to significantly alter his voice, ranging from very low to extremely high pitches, rather than using his natural speaking voice.
He has built an extensive filmography in anime, lending his voice to a variety of prominent characters. Among his most notable roles are the protagonist Nagara in the surreal series Sonny Boy and the voice of the protagonist Rudeus Greyrat in his previous life for the hit series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. In the latter series, he performs alongside Denisse Leguizamo, who voices the character Sylphiette. He also voiced the villainous Ares Srowa in Banished From The Heroes' Party and took on the role of Hiroshi Yagyuu in The Prince of Tennis II Hyotei vs Rikkai Game of Future. In 2024, he voiced the titular character in the new Netflix adaptation of Ranma ½, a role that generated significant discussion among fans due to the character's updated interpretation.
In addition to his on-screen roles, Leguizamo also works as a dialogue director. He directed the Latin Spanish dub for The Prince of Tennis II Hyotei vs Rikkai Game of Future, a project in which he also voiced a character. He is associated with numerous dubbing studios in both his hometown of Cuernavaca and Mexico City, reflecting his active presence in the industry.
