Description
Dracule Mihawk, titled "Hawk-Eyes," reigns as the world's strongest swordsman, his unparalleled skill and fearsome reputation echoing across the seas. His distinct yellow hawk-like eyes inspire his moniker and intensify his intimidating presence. Standing 198 cm tall with a lean, muscular build, he favors ornate black-and-red attire, a wide-brimmed hat adorned with a plume, and a crucifix necklace hiding the small dagger Kogatana. His devastatingly precise primary weapon is the massive black blade Yoru, classified among the twelve Supreme Grade swords.

Mihawk's past remains largely enigmatic, though he earned the epithet "Marine Hunter" from a history of targeting naval forces. This stemmed from a significant betrayal by an unspecified individual, fostering a deep grudge against the Marines and general distrust. His isolationist tendencies led him to join the Seven Warlords of the Sea primarily to secure solitude and avoid constant pursuit. Despite this affiliation, he frequently ignored summons and selectively engaged in duties based on personal whims, like destroying Don Krieg's fleet for disturbing his nap.

A renowned rivalry existed between Mihawk and Red-Haired Shanks, their clashes once "shaking the world." After Shanks lost his left arm, Mihawk ceased seeking duels but retained a neutral, respectful relationship. Mihawk's analytical nature extends to combat; he meticulously assesses opponents' strengths, as seen testing Whitebeard's power at Marineford and acknowledging Monkey D. Luffy's latent ability to rally allies as dangerous.

Following the Marineford War, Mihawk returned to Kuraigana Island, permitting the stranded Roronoa Zoro and Perona to reside in his castle. Recognizing Zoro's determination, he reluctantly agreed to train him in swordsmanship and Haki for two years, enforcing a strict regimen that forbade alcohol until Zoro mastered Armament Haki. This pragmatic mentorship underscored Mihawk's adherence to swordsman's honor and quiet expectation for Zoro to surpass him.

After the Seven Warlords' dissolution, Mihawk lost his government ally status, becoming a fugitive with a 3,590,000,000 berry bounty. He co-founded the Cross Guild with Crocodile and Buggy, leveraging Buggy's notoriety as a figurehead to evade direct attention while issuing bounties on Marines. Mihawk openly dismisses Buggy's cowardice but tolerates his role for practical peacekeeping, maintaining no interest in becoming an Emperor and preferring strategic anonymity through the Guild.

Personality-wise, Mihawk embodies stoicism, rarely displaying emotion or surprise. He values solitude yet demonstrates unexpected hospitality, advising Perona to leave Kuraigana Island for her safety ahead of Marine invasions. In combat, he exhibits analytical prowess and honor, using Kogatana against weaker challengers as mockery but employing Yoru against the worthy. His lone travels on a coffin-shaped raft symbolize self-reliance and power.
