Jibanyan is a red-and-white cat Yo-kai featuring pink inner ears, a chipped left ear, and large-pupiled yellow eyes. He sports a yellow haramaki across his chest and a collar with an aquamarine bell, possessing twin tails tipped with cyan flames. His design remains consistent, including in "Sora Tobu Kujira to Double Sekai no Daibōken da Nyan!". Originally a living cat named Aka-maru belonging to a girl named Amy, he met his end when struck by a truck at an intersection. Misinterpreting Amy's comment as calling him "lame" for this failure, he became a Yo-kai driven by revenge against trucks to prove his strength, though the anime later reveals Amy's words were self-directed. He becomes a permanent companion to Nate Adams (or Katie Forester) early on, frequently aiding in resolving Yo-kai incidents. Jibanyan exhibits a determined yet occasionally lazy personality, eagerly confronting threats but sometimes disregarding tasks he deems unimportant. He obsesses over Chocobars and the music group Next HarMEOWny, collecting related merchandise like magazines and CDs. In "Sora Tobu Kujira to Double Sekai no Daibōken da Nyan!", these traits hold true. He expresses confusion alongside Yo-kai like Robonyan F and Shogunyan when a flying whale transforms Springdale into a live-action world and actively assists Nate in investigating. A significant moment involves his emotional reaction to encountering the live-action version of Amy. He becomes despondent observing her changed behavior: discarding fashion magazines, favoring dogs over cats, and owning a pet dog. He interacts with Koalanyan, a blue koala Yo-kai central to the film, discovering Koalanyan's fear of water when splashed. Jibanyan primarily fights using physical attacks like his signature Soultimate move, "Paws of Fury", involving rapid paw strikes. While incapable of standard evolution, he achieves transformed states through fusion: combining with Roughraff creates the rebellious Baddinyan, while fusing with Coughkoff results in the sickly, spiky Thornyan. These fusions alter his appearance and abilities but are not featured in this specific film. During the movie's climax, he participates in the battle against the destructive whale monster Kujirama. He collaborates with Nate and other Yo-kai, including Venoct, Kyubi, Robonyan F, Komasan, Usapyon, and Shogunyan, confronting the threat across both the animated and live-action dimensions.
