Description
Levi Ackermann, humanity’s strongest soldier, commands the Scout Regiment’s Special Operations Squad with lethal precision. Born to Kuchel, a prostitute in the Underground City, he was orphaned young and raised by his uncle Kenny, who trained him in combat and survival. The awakening of his Ackermann lineage—genetically enhanced reflexes and strength—granted him unmatched prowess but alienated him socially, burdened by the clan’s engineered subservience.

As a young criminal leader in the Underground, Levi orchestrated heists with allies Furlan and Isabel using stolen vertical maneuvering gear. Forced by a surface benefactor to assassinate Scout officer Erwin Smith, their failed attempt led to Erwin offering them military service in exchange for clemency. During their inaugural expedition, Titans slaughtered Furlan and Isabel, forging Levi’s resolve to follow Erwin’s command despite his grief.

Ruthlessly efficient in battle, Levi rose to lead the Special Operations Squad, safeguarding Titan-shifter Eren Yeager. At Eren’s trial, Levi brutally subdued him to prove the Scouts’ control over his powers, securing Eren’s enlistment. His leadership balanced casualty minimization with unflinching independence, trusting subordinates’ competence while keeping emotional detachment.

Levi’s loyalty to Erwin defined his choices, even when sacrificing personal stakes. During the retake of Wall Maria, he selected Armin over Erwin for the Titan serum, honoring Erwin’s final command to “choose with the least regret.” Confrontations with Zeke Yeager, inheritor of the Beast Titan, left Levi scarred, half-blind, and maimed, yet undeterred from combat despite his injuries.

His moral duality surfaced when confronting Titans as transformed humans; though merciless in battle, he privately grappled with the ethical weight of slaughtering former people. A distant kinship with Mikasa Ackermann fostered silent mutual respect, rooted in shared Ackermann heritage.

In the final battle against Eren’s genocidal Rumbling, Levi focused on eliminating Zeke to fulfill his vow to Erwin. Surviving the conflict, he retired, mourning lost comrades while finding solace in peace. Chronic injuries and disabilities did not erode his resolve to assist others, embodying resilience forged through loss.

Meticulous cleanliness, blunt speech, and distrust of external authority—shaped by his traumatic upbringing and Scout Regiment trials—underscored his pragmatism. Unwavering dedication to reducing suffering cemented his legacy as a principled pillar within the military’s fractured hierarchy.
