Description
Yuki Mori serves as an Earth Federation Cosmo Force officer, initially the operations officer and radar operator on the Yamato during the Garmillas War and later campaigns. Her childhood was defined by tragedy when her parents perished in a car crash—later suspected as a terrorist bombing—triggering amnesia that erased all pre-incident memories. She grew up under the guardianship of Admiral Ryu Hijikata, affectionately calling him "Uncle Hijikata."

Before the Yamato's Iscandar mission, Mori collaborated with Princess Yurisha Iscandar, receiving a message capsule with Queen Stasha's holographic communication. This role positioned her at the nexus of Iscandar-Garmillas political dynamics. Early tensions marked her interactions with Susumu Kodai during the Iscandar voyage, but shared trials transformed their relationship, notably during an Enceladus mission where Kodai rescued her from a Garmillas automaton. These events cultivated mutual respect and blossoming romance.

By Final Yamato (2203 or 2205, per conflicting sources), Mori commanded the supply carrier Asuka while engaged to Susumu Kodai, then Yamato's captain. Amid the Aquarius crisis—a water planet endangering Earth—she witnessed Kodai's apparent death after an enemy attack scrambled his brain waves. He was revived via forbidden Thanatos therapy, violating death's dignity, under special orders potentially issued by Admiral Okita.

Their bond culminated during this crisis. Physical union expressed spiritual love, signifying their passage into adulthood and shared future responsibility. Framed as its own battle, it echoed the theme that "life is a battle." Mori stood by Kodai when tactical failures led to his resignation as captain, though Admiral Okita later reinstated him as combat group leader for the final Aquarius operation.

In 2220, Mori captained a Super Andromeda-class vessel on a Salezar system peace mission. Ambushed by the SUS Empire, her ship was crippled and vanished after an emergency warp, resulting in her presumed death. This incident spurred Kodai's return to active duty.
