Description
Director Ton leads the accounting department at Carrier Man Trading Co., Ltd. This overweight domestic pig, inspired by the Duroc breed, sports rosy brown skin and typically wears a white dress shirt, green tie, black pants, and brown shoes.

Initially a primary antagonist, Ton creates a difficult environment for Retsuko, assigning her excessive work and making sexist remarks. He dismisses modern technology, favoring an abacus. His nickname "Calendar" for Retsuko implies he expects her departure. This behavior stems from outdated attitudes and disrespect for younger or female colleagues.

Beneath his harsh exterior lies complexity. While intoxicated at a company party, Ton recognizes Retsuko's potential, suggesting she could become a "boss." He offers her slack during personal struggles like financial woes or relationship issues, providing mature advice about balancing professional and personal life like accounting principles. In Season 3, he attempts to pay off Retsuko's debt to Hyoudou to retain her, acknowledging her value.

Ton's development intensifies in Season 4. Faced with new president Himuro's demand for a layoff list, Ton initially complains with Komiya but refuses out of loyalty. This results in his demotion to a meaningless "newly made" department. He hides this from his family out of pride and fear, taking a low-paying convenience store job. During this period, he assists Retsuko with her Death Metal YouTube channel's accounting, though he patronizes her and struggles with technology.

Ton's personal life reveals further layers. Married with twin daughters, he dotes on them excessively, keeping their photos at work. Yet he feels intimidated by his family, dreading events like Family Appreciation Day. His wife notices his growing reliance on Retsuko, prompting him to acknowledge Retsuko has "a good head on her shoulders when she uses it"—his first direct compliment to a coworker.

His workplace relationships vary: he shows favoritism toward Tsunoda, blushing and giving her slack, while enabling Komiya's sycophancy. Though verbally disparaging his accounting team, he views them as family, prioritizing their job security over his own position. After leaving the company, he maintains a gruff exterior with Retsuko but gradually interacts with her more as a colleague, indicating reluctant respect.
