Gatomon is a Champion-level Holy Beast Digimon, a rare sacred species whose small size belies immense latent power. She possesses white feline features with large caracal-like ears tipped in purple fur and distinctive lime-yellow gloves with red stripes housing claws forged from SaberLeomon's data. A Holy Ring on her tail amplifies her abilities; its absence reduces her power to Rookie-level. She bears red X-shaped scars on her left paw and two scars on her right paw, inflicted during prolonged abuse by Myotismon. Created in a project to balance good and evil in the Digital World, Gatomon's Digi-Egg was separated during the Dark Masters' attack. Hatching as Nyaromon, she digivolved to Salamon and actively sought her destined partner before falling under Myotismon's influence. His abuse caused her to forget her purpose. Serving as his lieutenant while Gatomon, she developed a rivalry with DemiDevimon. Her sole ally was Wizardmon, whom she once saved. Encountering the DigiDestined in the Real World, Gatomon initially opposed them as Myotismon's agent. Wizardmon helped her recognize Kari Kamiya as her true partner. When Myotismon captured Gatomon and threatened Kari, Wizardmon sacrificed himself to protect them. This sacrifice activated Kari's Crest of Light, enabling Gatomon's first evolution to Angewomon to defeat Myotismon. Four years later, Gatomon reunited with Kari but lost her tail ring escaping the Digimon Emperor's forces, drastically weakening her. The ring's absence allowed her to perform Armor Digivolution. Gennai later returned it, revealing it absorbed dark energy from the Emperor's fortress. Later, temporarily separated from Kari, Gatomon reunited during an infected Kuwagamon's attack, fighting alongside the DigiDestined. She helped defeat one Kuwagamon and later confronted Alphamon, though outmatched. As distortions between worlds grew, Gatomon was quarantined with other partner Digimon to prevent infection. When Meicoomon digivolved into Meicrackmon Vicious Mode, Gatomon became Angewomon but was infected battling a corrupted Angemon. This led to her attacking allies until a Digital World reboot restored her to Nyaromon, erasing her memories.
