Description
Haruo Sakaki is a human male of Japanese descent, approximately 173 centimeters tall with a slim athletic build, pale complexion, light brown eyes, and dark grayish-blue hair. Witnessing his parents, Akira and Haruka Sakaki, die during a Godzilla attack at age four—when a Landing Ship destroyed by Godzilla's atomic breath crushed their bus—forged his profound, obsessive hatred for the monster. Raised aboard the Aratrum spacecraft by his adoptive grandfather, Daichi Tani, Haruo developed into a highly intelligent yet reckless individual fixated on vengeance. By age 24, he held the rank of Captain in the United Earth Marine Corps. His early attempted rebellion against the Central Committee's decision to send elderly volunteers, including Daichi, to Tau Ceti e resulted in imprisonment. There, Exif bishop Metphies supplied him classified Godzilla data, enabling him to devise a strategic plan to defeat Godzilla.

Spearheading the return mission to Earth, Haruo emphasized meticulous planning to overcome Godzilla's defenses. His strategy succeeded in killing the smaller Godzilla offspring, Godzilla Filius, but catastrophically failed against the vastly larger Godzilla Earth, decimating human forces. Awakening in the care of the Houtua—an indigenous humanoid species descended from Earth's remaining humans—Haruo reunited with survivors, including childhood friend Yuko Tani and Bilusaludo officer Mulu-elu Galu-gu. Discovering the Houtua used nanometal arrowheads, the group traced the material to "Mechagodzilla City," a self-replicating technological fortress built from Mechagodzilla's remnants. Haruo initially collaborated with Galu-gu to reactivate the city as a weapon against Godzilla Earth.

Haruo's resolve wavered during the Mechagodzilla City events. His relationship with Yuko deepened, culminating in her expression of admiration for his defiance. However, as the Bilusaludo revealed their intent to merge humans with nanometal to enhance combat capabilities—deeming it necessary to kill Godzilla Earth—Haruo rejected this loss of humanity. When nanometal forcibly assimilated Yuko during battle, Haruo faced a critical choice: allow assimilation for a chance at killing Godzilla or destroy Mechagodzilla City to save her and prevent nanometal from consuming Earth. He destroyed the control center, rescuing Yuko but leaving her brain-dead, sustained only by residual nanometal. This decision marked a shift from revenge-driven focus toward prioritizing human life and identity.

Subsequent events exposed Metphies's manipulation of Haruo's hatred to summon the extraterrestrial entity Ghidorah. Recognizing his role in perpetuating destruction, Haruo piloted a Vulture mech carrying Yuko's body into Godzilla's path, provoking the monster to kill them both with its atomic breath. His sacrifice eradicated the last nanometal traces, prevented Ghidorah's return, and symbolically ended humanity's war against Godzilla. His Houtua legacy evolved into a cautionary myth memorializing him as the "Lord of Wrath," to whom fears were symbolically offered and purified.
