Description
Martin Lazzari, an Italian-American environmental biologist holding the rank of Major within the United Earth forces, serves as a key scientific advisor for the mission to reclaim Earth. His expertise analyzes the planet's radically altered ecosystem following humanity's 20,000-year absence. He demonstrates scholarly curiosity and a generally optimistic outlook, expressing relief after initial successes avoid further dangerous encounters.

In *Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters*, he joins the expedition to eliminate Godzilla. Surveying the Tanzawa Forest, he identifies hazardous metallic, razor-sharp plant life warning against physical contact. He discovers fossilized human ruins preserved through lichen using concrete as a seedbed. After an attack by winged Servum creatures, he analyzes a carcass. Carbon dating reveals approximately 19,200 years have passed since humanity's departure, far exceeding the initial 10,000-year estimate. Analysis of a Servum fang concludes both the Servum and local flora share genetic lineage with Godzilla, indicating Godzilla's cells influenced Earth's evolutionary trajectory.

During the battle against "Godzilla Filius," he records data on its asymmetrically permeable shielding, aiding in locating its electromagnetic pulse organ within the dorsal plates. Following Filius's destruction, he theorizes this was not the original Godzilla, citing biological improbability of an organism remaining unchanged over millennia. He suggests it was likely an offspring inheriting the original's form and abilities, potentially indicating more existed. When the original "Godzilla Earth" emerges, he observes its 300-meter stature, attributing its growth to uninterrupted development across 20,000 years. He identifies its high-volume roar as a "super oscillatory wave attack" before being caught in the shockwave from its tail swing; his immediate fate is unresolved.

In *Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle*, he survives the encounter and is found among human survivors. Healed by the Houtua people using medicinal powder, he reunites with the main group. Accompanying them to the ruins of a 21st-century anti-Godzilla weapon facility – now transformed into "Mechagodzilla City" by self-replicating nanometal – he observes and reports physical deterioration among stationed soldiers. He speculates the Houtua medicinal powder counteracts an effect of the environment or technology. He witnesses the Bilusaludo faction's increasing integration with the nanometal and the subsequent failure of the plan to destroy Godzilla Earth using the city's systems, evacuating with other survivors as Godzilla destroys the city.

He appears in *Godzilla: The Planet Eater* as part of the surviving human group confronting new threats.

His relationships are professional and collaborative. He works alongside Haruo Sakaki, providing scientific insights during missions, expressing admiration for Haruo's determination while personally preferring to avoid extreme risks. He interacts with the Houtua, benefiting from their medical knowledge. He maintains a working relationship with Bilusaludo commander Mulu-elu Galu-gu during technological operations in Mechagodzilla City. His primary role consistently involves applying biological and environmental science to understand threats and support strategic objectives.
