TV-Series
Description
Pleakley hails from the planet Plorgonar and formerly worked as a Galactic Federation agent specializing in Earth expertise. His first major assignment partnered him with Dr. Jumba Jookiba to capture the escaped Experiment 626 (Stitch) on Earth. Despite an initially reluctant partnership, Pleakley, Jumba, and Stitch ultimately forged a close friendship. Following their failure to apprehend Stitch, the Galactic Federation exiled Pleakley and Jumba to Earth. They integrated into Lilo Pelekai's Hawaiian ʻohana.
Years later, during events depicted in the anime series, Pleakley became stranded on an asteroid within Saturn's rings while on a Galactic Federation mission. He remained there until Jumba crash-landed on the same asteroid while chasing Stitch, who had stolen a spacecraft and fled to Earth. After escaping the asteroid, Pleakley rejoined Jumba and Stitch on the fictional Okinawan island of Izayoi. He became a permanent resident in the household of Yuna Kamihara, a young girl who befriended Stitch, and her grandmother. Pleakley, Jumba, and Stitch became part of Yuna's family, with Pleakley supporting Stitch's quest to perform 43 good deeds to earn a wish from the magical Chitama Spiritual Stone.
Pleakley exhibits emotional sensitivity, a fascination with Earth customs, and a strong adherence to rules, often clashing with more rebellious characters. He displays a recurring tendency toward feminine gender expression, frequently adopting women's clothing and maternal personas, though later media adapted this trait to holographic human disguises. His loyalty to the Galactic Federation sometimes conflicts with his dedication to his Earth-based family, but he consistently prioritizes protecting Earth's inhabitants and maintaining peace.
Pleakley faces challenges from antagonists like Dr. Hämsterviel and Captain Gantu, who seek to exploit Stitch and his cousins. After aiding in recapturing Jumba's experiments, Pleakley received an appointment as Head of Earth Studies at Galactic Alliance Community College. Dissatisfied with the role's limitations and loneliness, and missing his Earth family, he resigned and returned to Earth permanently, reaffirming his commitment to Yuna, Stitch, and Jumba.
Physically, Pleakley possesses a slender, cyclops-like build with green-beige skin, a single large eye, three legs, and an antenna serving as a sensory organ for smell and hearing. His abilities include resilience to noxious odors appreciated by Plorgonarians and a vulnerability to seasickness. He occasionally demonstrates unexpected skills, such as proficiency in basketball-like sports due to similar athletic experience on his home planet.
