Description
Negi Springfield is a human male mage born on May 2, 1993, in Wales. He is the son of Nagi Springfield, the legendary "Thousand Master," and Arika Anarchia Entheofushia, last Queen of Vespertatia. After his mother's execution and father's disappearance, he was raised by his cousin Nekane Springfield, whom he regards as an older sister. At age four, demons attacked his village; Nagi intervened to save him, leaving Negi with his staff before vanishing. This event drove Negi to become a Magister Magi and find his father.
He graduated top of his magic school class at age nine. As training, he was assigned to teach English and serve as homeroom teacher for Class 2-A (later 3-A) at Mahora Academy Girls’ Junior High School in Japan. The class initially had 31 girls, later reduced to 30. Negi struggled with classroom management but earned his students’ respect through maturity, kindness, and dedication. Despite his youth, he showed profound responsibility, retaining childlike traits like disliking baths and clinging during sleep from sharing a bed with Nekane. He remained naive about romance and often overworked to emulate his father’s legacy.
His magic specializes in wind and lightning, initially with limited combat experience. He trained in martial arts under Kū Fei, mastering techniques like instant movement (shundou) and barrier reinforcement. Later, he learned dark magic under Evangeline A.K. McDowell, refining her forbidden "Magia Erebea" to absorb spells into his body. This enhanced his resilience, speed, and electrical attacks, culminating in techniques like "Lightning Speed," "Thunder in Heaven, Great Vigor," and "Spell Synthesis: Lightning God Lance Titan Slayer." He mastered absorbing and redirecting enemy attacks, defeating foes like Jack Rakan and Fate Averruncus. Prolonged Magia Erebea use transformed him into an immortal vampire-like entity, halting aging around 17.
He formed "Pactio" contracts via kiss with multiple students, accessing their artifacts. His primary artifact, "Mile Vincula," let him borrow partners’ artifacts freely. Key partners included Asuna Kagurazaka, who wielded the magic-nullifying "Ensis Exorcizans," and Chisame Hasegawa, whom he later married. Asuna was revealed as Princess Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia, a relative from his mother’s lineage, and became his guardian in Japan.
Later known as "The Greatest Mage," he killed the cosmic entity Ialda Baoth (the Mage of the Beginning) but was possessed by her resonance ability, forcing him to experience all living beings’ pain. To prevent harming others, he isolated himself in space for decades. He was freed during a confrontation involving his grandson, Touta Konoe, and allies. After Ialda’s defeat, he relinquished immortality and lived peacefully with surviving Class 3-A members on Planet Shinobu, dying of natural causes. He had one child with Chisame, and his lineage continued through Touta Konoe.
