Negi allied with Magic World armies to stop them, confronting Fate and the Lifemaker—revealed as Nagi possessed by an ancient entity. The conflict ended with Nagi urging Negi to destroy his body to prevent further havoc. In later years, he married student Chisame Hasegawa, fathered a child, and became the new Thousand Master. He reconciled with Nagi, who returned alive, and maintained ties with Eva, now his stepmother. His grandson Touta Konoe emerged as the protagonist of the sequel *UQ Holder!*.
