Description
Toru Kazama, sometimes called Georgie, is a five-year-old member of Futaba Kindergarten's Sunflower Class and a friend of Shinnosuke Nohara. He presents an impeccably groomed appearance, featuring styled dark blue hair in the anime (black in the manga), and typically wears a sky-blue top with a white collar, orange shorts, white socks, and black shoes.

Kazama prioritizes academic excellence, regularly attending cram school and English classes. This focus sometimes makes him seem like a know-it-all or snobbish, though he occasionally overstates his knowledge. He excels in English, calligraphy, sports like football and baseball, and mathematics. Despite his studious image, he secretly enjoys anime and manga, particularly magical girl series like Magical Girl Moe-P, hiding this interest from peers. He harbors crushes on girls including Ai Suotome, Midori, Hanako, and Torma. His marriage proposal to Ai resulted in her slapping him, an incident he tried to conceal.

His father works abroad as an architect, leading to infrequent family reunions, such as a trip to Perth, Australia. Kazama idolizes his English-fluent father and shares a strong attachment to his mother, occasionally displaying behaviors hinting at an Oedipus complex. The family's relative wealth enables international travel, distinguishing them socially.

Kazama frequently seeks acceptance among upper-class peers but faces setbacks when Shinnosuke's eccentric behavior embarrasses him, causing potential elite friends to lose interest. Despite consistently denying being Shinnosuke's best friend, their bond is profound. Evidence includes Kazama's tearful chase of a departing train when Shinnosuke nearly moved away in *My Moving Story! Cactus Large Attack!*. Their interactions involve bickering and physical comedy, including six on-screen kisses, such as one following Kazama's father's return. Kazama also maintains a close friendship with Masao Sato, comforting him during emotional moments.

A recurring subplot involves romantic tension with Shinnosuke's infant sister, Himawari Nohara. Episodes depict them holding hands while blushing, and Shinnosuke often teases them about future marriage. Kazama's parents, Shinnosuke, and the family dog, Shiro, have disapproved of this potential union, though futuristic narrative hints suggest they may marry as adults.

Kazama is a member of the Kasukabe Defense Organization. In the film *Invasion!! Alien Shiriri*, he participates in an adventure spanning Japan after an alien transforms Shinnosuke's parents into children, his role reflecting his established traits—supportive yet occasionally exasperated by the chaos.
