Description
Takeo Takakura presides as president of Kitanohashi High School's Magic Club, which he founded after discovering a grimoire and magic wand in an oceanfront cave while evading childhood rival Mizuha Miyama. Using the grimoire's knowledge, he replicated wands and instructed other members in magic.
Demonstrating leadership yet plagued by perverse tendencies, Takakura frequently visualizes female club members in compromising scenarios. These intrusive thoughts disrupt critical moments despite his efforts to concentrate on club duties. His protective instincts surface during crises, particularly toward member Sae Sawanoguchi. He suppresses romantic feelings for Sae due to his role as her mentor and upperclassman, fueling persistent inner turmoil.
When the Bell alien threat emerges, Takakura spearheads the club's countermeasures despite early defeats. His resolve drives their missions, though attempts to show off sometimes misfire—such as a botched rescue leading to multiple abductions. After the Bell transforms into a colossal tree, he continues guiding the club through ensuing magical conflicts in the TV series.
Constant tension defines Takakura's dynamic with vice-president Ayanojyo Aburatsubo, whose romantic overtures he rebuffs while valuing her club contributions. His rivalry with Miyama reignites sporadically, sparking comedic or contentious clashes. Though magically competent through diligent study, Takakura's skills fall short of Sae's latent potential and Akane Aikawa's innate talent.
Across both OVA and TV narratives, Takakura progressively balances leadership obligations with personal flaws. His romantic feelings remain unaddressed, but steadfast dedication to shielding members and battling supernatural forces reflects heightened reliability.
