Daniel Schlauch

Daniel Schlauch is a German voice actor, dialogue director, and dialogue book author, best known as the German voice of the actor Zac Efron and the anime character Monkey D. Ruffy from the long-running series One Piece. Born in Munich on December 28, 1982, he began his career in voice acting at a young age, securing his first roles in 1994 after successfully applying as a young talent. His first leading role came in 1995 for the television series Party of Five.
Schlauch's entry into the world of anime dubbing came in 2001 when he voiced the character Ryoga Hibiki in the series Ranma ½. This was followed two years later by his most iconic role: the protagonist Monkey D. Ruffy in the anime adaptation of One Piece, which premiered in Germany in 2003. He has since voiced the character in over a thousand episodes of the series, numerous films, and specials, becoming the definitive German voice for the character. This extensive body of work for One Piece includes providing the German voice for Ruffy such as One Piece Film Red, One Piece Stampede, One Piece 3D2Y: Overcoming Ace's Death! Luffy's Pledge to His Friends, One Piece: Episode of Chopper - The Miracle Winter Cherry Blossom, One Piece: Take Aim!
