Description
Eddie Cassano is a prominent Hollywood movie producer in Los Angeles, using this legitimate career to mask his primary role in drug trafficking. He controls the West Coast drug market through alliances with three separate gangs, supplying narcotics throughout Hollywood. His operations exploit aspiring actresses, turning them into addicts and sex slaves to sustain his criminal enterprise. Though authorities have charged him with offenses like tax evasion, extensive bribery networks corrupting law enforcement and the judicial system consistently secure his release. His public reputation suffers from investments in critically panned films, reflecting poor professional judgment.

Physically, he has neatly combed grey hair, a thick mustache, chinstrap beard, droopy eyelids, and a prominent nose. He typically wears a navy blue suit, violet dress shirt, and maroon tie, projecting an image of success and sophistication. He exhibits high energy, enthusiasm for criminal ventures, and adaptability in high-pressure situations, often improvising when plans change. His charismatic yet blunt communication style enables him to command social situations and assert dominance. He demonstrates a competitive nature and willingness to take significant risks, such as overloading machinery to destroy evidence during law enforcement raids.

During Case 1, Laurent Thierry and Makoto Edamura target him with a counterfeit drug called "Sakura Magic," presented as strawberry-flavored hard candy. Initially suspicious, Cassano investigates Makoto's background before accepting him into his organization. He hosts Makoto at his Beverly Hills mansion, renovates a cider factory into a drug lab, and publicly declares Makoto part of his "family" during a celebratory sushi party. At this event, he violently assaults his accountant Sapata with a baseball bat upon discovering embezzlement. His operation unravels during an FBI raid at the factory during the drug exchange; he attempts to destroy evidence and flee but is captured by Makoto and Salazar. He subsequently negotiates his freedom by offering $10 million to an investigator posing as Paula Dickens, though this fails when the real Paula Dickens arrests him.

Despite this arrest, legal proceedings exonerate him due to manipulated evidence and judicial corruption. He reappears in Case 4, aligning with Makoto against the yakuza leader Akemi Suzaku. In a strategic confrontation at the Suzaku building, he arrives with armed personnel to support Makoto during a standoff involving human trafficking accusations. Flashbacks reveal Makoto recruited him beforehand to orchestrate Akemi's downfall on an abandoned island. His collaboration includes staging a gunfire distraction during the building's collapse and later celebrating the mission's success aboard his boat, marking his transition from antagonist to reluctant ally.
