Description
Ayaka Tanaka, a young woman working at a beverage company in modern Tokyo, has secretly adored her senior colleague Hiroko Yoshioka for years. Despite sharing the same office floor, Ayaka can barely stammer a greeting, let alone express her feelings. One evening during a late night work session, an exhausted Ayaka accidentally blurts out her crush, expecting humiliation or dismissal. To her shock, Hiroko calmly replies that she already knew and feels the same way. Their relationship begins as a clandestine office romance, with Ayaka’s impulsive and dramatic nature clashing comically against Hiroko’s reserved, methodical demeanor. Major narrative arcs include Ayaka’s earnest but fumbling attempts to become a more dependable partner, Hiroko’s gradual disclosure of a painful past relationship that made her wary of openness, a company retreat where the couple must hide their affection from prying coworkers, and a final arc where they decide to go public, forcing both to confront office gossip, their own insecurities, and what they truly want from each other. The series balances lighthearted misunderstandings with sincere emotional growth, showing how two very different people learn to communicate, trust, and build a future together.
